Why are free and reduced lunch applications based on household income of the person applying, yet child support is based on individual income and is required to make sure the children live the same style in each household?

child support is included in household income and represents the financial contribution of the non custodial parent towards that childs basic needs including food.  Certainly a fair way to do it.

Sure a lot of guys that whine about child support.

The system is fucked up.  That's what's pathetic.  My buddy is paying a shit load, but since his ex doesn't work, she applied for free and reduced lunches.  Rather than give some canned response, why not explain what "right" about it.

Not when applying for free and reduced lunches and there is no custodial parent as they have 50/50 custody.

women are treated very well here in the northeast.

Me and my wife came to an agreement on how we will handle the situation without lawyers.

My daughter couldn't be better off and she will be coming to my university in 2 years.

I'm in the north east,  Central NY.. We each had lawyers, never had to show up for court,..My lawyer met with her lawyer, court would not have been good for her, so an agreement was reached and filed with the courts so it was all legal...We were never married, so it was just matter of custody..

if he's so angry he should go and ask for his child support to be raised so the mother no longer qualifies

He said that child support does not factor in.  I see that it is in the attachment though.

BTW, she didn't qualify.  But filled out the application anyway and the results of the application were sent back to him.  That is how he supposedly found out about it.
