You're totally off base on having less savings. The baby boomers are the most affluent retirees history has ever seen.

What's the matter.... you afraid mom and dad won't leave you anything.

Oh boy... :popcornchair:

Or, "oh person", whatever the fuck is politically correct nowadays... :fool:

how it should be.........   kids these days wont be around taking care of us either so you better have cash for that as well

Exactly. I told my parents to enjoy themselves. It's their money. My sisters and I don't need any of it. They raised us well and we can look after ourselves.

Don' skimp just to leave money or assets to us.

I did tell them to make God damn sure there's enough to bury themselves!

Retirees are more active than previous generations. They are traveling, buying the things they want, not just what they need and having fun doing it. What's the matter.... you afraid mom and dad won't leave you anything.

Ok great, maybe they can do millenials a favor and not collect their SS checks from a system they failed to make sustainable then.

I'm a god damn socialist, why would I be coveting my parents' private property?

Never been to one, we have a "Trader Joe's" near by. That's even too much liberal green weenie for me. Surprisingly good deals, if you can get in and out, without being run over by a dented fender, soccer mom driving a Lexus...

After my mom passed on at a young age and my dad getting me through high school I told him the same thing....  have fun!!!  Well when he had the big one at 62 years old he did have fun!!!!   As I found out after a day or 2 going through his shit he owed the IRS a fair amount of money....  he was an independent owner/operator truck driver... that only owned a 700,000 mile peterbilt and a 48 ft trailer.....  going through his finances and carbon copies his check book I know why he enjoyed Nevada....  he really enjoyed Nevada!!!!  All of Nevada and what it has To offer.

i just smile thinking about his funeral and the stories his trucker buddies told....  he was a legend and mentor to his friends in Nevada!

a worn out peterbilt and trailer isn’t worth shit!!!  Enough to cover funeral expenses and attorney fees is about it.

A property can be an investment, sure. Not a home.

yes a home can be a investment . I work in homes every day shit loads of older customers . at a certain point they all dump the big house they have been in for decades and buy a  much smaller less expensive place to live . what do you call the cash they have in the bank after the sale ?

when I am done working I plan on selling the home I am in and moving in to my cabin full time and rent a place in the south every winter for 2 mo . what would you call the cash I get for my home when I sell it and move in to my cabin ?

you are not a socialist that is a full blown lie . few pages back you talked about how you family knew how to shelter there assets so you would not loose your mommy and daddys wealth to medical and nursing care . a true socialist is more than happy to let the government take that wealth and spend it as they see fit for the good of the collective .

you are a democrat you want every ones but your family's money used for the collective

I call it a good game plan. We sold the house in the city and bought in the country 3.5yrs ago. We did all the renos and upgrades as we went along while still working and bought the toys we wanted. When I retire this year all that'll be left is some small projects.

Perfect! The wife and I don't care about the grass lol. It's okay and looks green and gets mowed once a week. We have 18-20 houses in this little area with a dirt road to get here and paved roads around here. Nice and quiet and plenty of wildlife around

I would say your cabin would become your home and your place in the south would become a house you rent. The place in the south could become the renter's home though.

My mom is an accountant, and not a socialist. I'm a working class dude that rents a shitty apartment and qualifies for the earned income tax credit... Also who said anything about a government? I'm an anarchist like Moto as well. I don't want my money being doled out by a hierarchical system.
