Kurt Busch and Austin Dillon as my dark horse. :bc:

Damn I forgot Kurt has to go to the back....I'll stick with him but Truex is my backup pick.

I'm sure Edwards thought he had Brad beat once he got to the back bumper.

Nice win.

The way Brad was talking on the radio that last lap I thought he was done but sure as shit he was sandbagging....I liked his post race interview again as well. Good dude. :bc:

  • Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not race at New Hampshire: Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not compete in the July 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after experiencing concussion-like symptoms. Earnhardt, driver of the #88 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, was evaluated this week in Charlotte and today was not cleared by physicians to race. Alex Bowman will be the team's substitute driver this weekend at New Hampshire.
    "I wasn't feeling great the week going into Kentucky (Speedway) and thought it was possibly severe allergies," Earnhardt said. "I saw a family doctor and was given medication for allergies and a sinus infection. When that didn't help, I decided to dig a little deeper. Because of my symptoms and my history with concussions, and after my recent wrecks at Michigan and Daytona, I reached out and met with a neurological specialist. After further evaluation, they felt it was best for me to sit out."
    "I'm disappointed about missing New Hampshire this weekend. I'm looking forward to treatment with the goal of getting back in the race car when the doctors say I'm ready."
    A timetable for Earnhardt's return has not been established. Hendrick Motorsports will provide an update next week regarding plans for the July 24 event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
    "I'm proud of Dale for standing up," said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. "The number-one priority is his health, so we're going to give him all the time he needs. We completely support the decision by the doctors and will be ready to go win races when he's 100 percent. In the meantime, we have full confidence in Greg (Ives) and the team, and we know they'll do a great job."(Hendrick Motorsports)(7-14-2016)

This bears watching....something like this could not only be a career ender but have long term quality of life ramifications.

Isn't that what happened to Ricky Craven?

He suffered a few concussions early in his career but returned and was successful. I think he retired because the rides dried up....really like him too.

Hendrick Motorsports talks about Dale Jr's status: Hendrick Motorsports general manager Doug Duchardt, #88-Crew Chief Greg Ives and Alex Bowman talked to the media at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Friday morning. Some notes:
After Earnhardt, Jr. continued to feel bad last weekend at Kentucky, the initial plan was for him to start this weekend's New Hampshire race and be relieved by Alex Bowman;
Friday afternoon it was determined that Earnhardt, Jr. would not be able to race at all this weekend;
Duchardt says they won't speculate on the long term impact of this on Earnhardt, Jr's career;
Should Earnhardt, Jr. not be able to race next week, Jeff Gordon will drive the #88 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway;
The #88 driver after Indianapolis (if needed) has not been determined. A decision will be made around Wednesday next week.;
Earnhardt, Jr. will need approval from a independent, board-certified neurologist before he is allowed to return. (7-15-2016)

Didn't Steve Park get his brain scrambled in a wreck and was never the same? Pocono if I remember right.
