  1. A friend at work just bought a house with trees down and debranched. I’m short wood this year so I took my saw and cut into a couple of pieces, found some good stuff that looks ready to burn. Most of it is ash, I’ve read that you can burn this right away. I don’t have a tool to measure the water content, a lot of it has been down for a couple years and I’m splitting it as I cut it. Going to spend the next couple Saturdays over there.
  2. Prove me wrong. They guy had good talking points but then pissed people off with his twitter shit. I think he would even loose to Biden on life support at this point. Republicans, shut this guy up and find a smart, respected candidate. If Trump decides to run and starts campaigning the Dems could run Harris and would win.
  3. Incredible how in the age of technology we will be waiting to see which party takes control. Fill in some bubbles with a #2 and feed it into a machine that processes it... on your way to the strip joint or work or wherever. I'm almost ready to pronounce election reform as one of my top 5 (ahead of abortion) needs of things to be addressed. Time to set federal standards for time limits on mail ins and how they are processed. Almost want to go back 20 years and bring back the mechanical machines. Make election day a holiday and get the majority to show up, mail ins need to be minimal for military and in remote areas or sick or elderly. If your too lazy to take a shower, put some clothes on and go cast a vote then you're the problem.
  4. So.... if everything goes up in August by $2.00 but then settles down and stays the same through November, we can say there has been no inflation? Is it raining or is someone pissing on me?
  5. With Biden I feel like I’m sitting through a sales pitch for a time share to get a free weekend. Economy, inflation… it’s going to get better… watch me. Ya your real tough old man but Its bullshit and I have no interest. Then he turns to his left to shake hands with the invisible man or start to walk into the woods. What makes it worse is his backers have to make an appearance an hour later and creatively retract things that he said. Presidents need to project leadership, this guy is a puppet to his party. With Trump you would get a sarcastic statement that in someways made sense. “Hey German Hillary, your gonna be screwed if you buy oil from Putin!”. He told other countries to do their fair share and stop mooching off the US. He may not have been liked by other countries but they had to respect what he said. It’s the people under the president that get the work done, the president goes out in public and presses it. Trump came across as an asshole but you understood what he was trying to get done. Biden tries to talk tough but his audience knows it’s just words off a teleprompter. They both are not my choice as a future president but as far as a comparison I would say Trump was more effective.
  6. Makes me wonder about all the shit cops got away with prior to video.
  7. Who was the guy on here a couple years back that decided to run for some type of office? Got off this site so they couldn’t find anything he wrote and use it against him. He loved to argue his point… had a deep conservative stance.
  8. and you wonder why everyone here thinks you're an asshole.... Come on Mr. Liberal, we got someone that currently has mental limitations and can only read off of a teleprompter. I think his latest gaff was something about 54 states. Then we have a VP that gets flustered with any serious discussions and giggles to cover for her not being prepared for said subject matter. She was put in charge of the border crises.... all she talks about are school busses. Biden and Harris were run to get the needed votes, they were not run because they were the most qualified. That being said, who were the most qualified? who should they run in 2024?
  9. All the Democratic candidates who ran for president in 2020 (cbsnews.com) Who were the real choices? They fucked up bigtime, can't even replace the pres with the VP at this point as things would get worse. Can't even somehow get rid of them both and put the next person in.
  10. "Don't worry, if it gets too bad your BIL will take care of you...".
  11. I almost believe this as much as the guy in his underwear with the hammer.
  12. For his faults this guy united the country. That and he didn’t require a staff to retract his comments after a speech.
  13. Didn't uncle Joe say fuck these companies; we're going green soon and won't need them? Something about shutting down a pipeline and cutting off land for drilling...
  14. Yes, the guy putting together the blender is the same guy helping set up the reactor. Hope it’s not a Monday build….
  15. Did I say that, or do you just always change up the conversation, so it fits the point you want to make?
  16. Yes, there is.... you know you can't do bankruptcy when you take a student loan right from the start. I would hope these young, bright students understand this when they sign the papers. I would think that mom and dad that are probably signing as well know this and are taking it seriously.
  17. I would guess that when you take out a student loan you know from the start that it better be a worthwhile career you're pursuing and you better work to graduate or you're going to have debt that you're going to have to pay.
  18. Right off the bat, the idea that Republicans intend to address inflation by “stabilizing the economy” is a curious pitch given that the party appears determined to do the opposite. But just as important was the disconnect between the question and the answer. The CNN host suggested that it’s not enough to simply blame Democrats, and instead asked Blunt to explain what Republicans intend to offer by way of solutions. The GOP senator responded by blaming Democrats, making an election prediction, and offering very little in the way of solutions. In fairness, according to the network transcript, at other points in the interview, Blunt also talked about new energy policies, which appeared to be largely in line with what the Biden administration has already done. The Missourian also criticized the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, which was odd, given that the Inflation Reduction Act didn’t increase inflation. The bottom line, however, appeared unavoidable: Pressed for answers about the GOP plan, Blunt didn’t have much to offer. He has plenty of company. A couple of months ago, NBC News’ Chuck Todd asked Republican Rep. Andy Barr — the ranking member on the Financial Services Committee’s panel on monetary policy — the same question. “Let me ask you this: What is your plan to deal with inflation?” the “Meet the Press” host asked. “What is the Republican plan to deal with inflation — other than not supporting Joe Biden policies? ... What is the proactive agenda here?” The GOP congressman responded, “Well, we have a positive agenda. We have a commitment to America, and we’re going to get back to basics.” RecommendedBarr then peddled a variety of hollow talking points, referencing illicit drugs, border security, a border wall, the terrorist watch list, the IRS, and oil drilling. Those waiting for the Kentucky congressman to get around to answering the question — “What is the Republican plan to deal with inflation?” — were left wanting. Barr didn’t come right out and say his party doesn’t have a plan — that wouldn’t have been a politic answer — but he also left little doubt that his party doesn’t have a plan. As we discussed soon after, this keeps happening. Donald Trump was asked on Fox News in April what he’d do to address inflation if he were in the White House. He gave a long, meandering, and wildly dishonest answer, which didn’t even try to address the question. Circling back to our earlier coverage, it was last fall when Sen. Rick Scott accidentally told The Wall Street Journal what he was actually thinking. Looking ahead to the midterm elections, the Florida Republican, who leads the National Republican Senatorial Committee, seemed a little too eager to celebrate inflation. “This is a gold mine for us,” the senator said. The obvious problem was that elected officials aren’t supposed to be happy about economic conditions that hurt the public. Scott’s “gold mine” rhetoric made him sound less like someone looking out for Americans’ interests and more like The Simpsons’ C. Montgomery Burns. But just as notable was the fact that Scott’s party still doesn’t have much in the way of actual policy ideas related to inflation, the Floridian’s glee notwithstanding. NBC News reported last fall, “eyond blocking Biden’s wide-ranging social safety net and climate action plan ... how the GOP would tackle a notoriously difficult economic trend is less clear.” The report added that much of the GOP’s plan — to the extent that anyone can credibly call it a “plan” — would have “little effect or no effect in addressing the cause of increased costs or would not materially affect the economy for years.” That was nearly a year ago. As Election Day approaches, very little has changed. When President Joe Biden insists that Republicans “have no plan” to address inflation, he’s not wrong.
  19. Less than 2 weeks left… what surprise can come out to get people to vote party line across the country? Abortion has been played to death, people being told the gas prices are down, the economy is recovering…. What can the dems play to get the voters to check their box and put it in the mail? Maybe Trump will open his big mouth? Covid scare?
  20. How did she get to the position she's at now? How did any of the 3 get there? I guess the secret to running for public office is to hide in a basement with your mouth shut and let the opposition talk and sound like an idiot.
  21. Awesome, Repubs are being killed off by covid and Dems are eating Tide pods. Whatever it takes to reduce the population.
