  1. congrats man. they never replace or fill the shoes. but they have their own way of being your best friend. my goldens all acted different but the same. really weird when they lay in the same spot in the yard. nothing like going home to that, and on the flip side very bad when they are gone and the house is empty
  2. not getting excited over 20 cents. better than up , but we came from 2.35. hope it drops before winter but if it doesn't , braap on anyway
  3. well as neighboring blue states we at least know what to expect
  4. still 4.70 here, diesel 6.00
  5. sure , a bolt. just don't park it in your garage, near your house, near your neighbor's car or house. or any combustible for that matter
  6. jet skis here brought most things on themselves . whole river to ride with islands, backwater places, and lots of cruising , but they decide to ride circles by the boat launch. or they have one machine and 5 people taking turns . they just go out and do donuts. but when they come back in you can see they have no experience . i have had to push them away from hitting my boat. my friends have a cruiser, were pulling he kid on a tube pretty low speed. jet ski sees the swell but not the kid, ends up getting the rope sucked in, cuts it and the kid is drifting. or if you are anchored hanging out they go by so close you can touch them. the river is huge, get the fuck away from me. i have friends with tuned skis and they just ride. don't bother anyone, and use the whole river. now the water cops are riled up over the foolish antics and everyone is paying. one of them floated up to a gas dock , and shut off. was js just about to bump the dock ad took his vest off and threw it on the cowl. steps on the dock and cop gives him a ticket for no life jacket. they just seem to have it out for them
  7. plus you have people buying the wrong vehicle. kids driving 80k denali hd duramax, that tow nothing . just want to be cool and roll coal. till it breaks and then the tears start. that is an expensive truck to own and maintain. or rothers that have a perfetly fine truck, go by and see a new color, and buy the same truck they had , except at a big loss. much of the pain can be avoided with common sense, but we know how that goes. don't forget poor or maxed credit, that gives some nice high interest rates too
  8. i took the grand kid to a town dock in long lake. midweek , kind of quiet. we were fishing from a separate dock than the boats use. i'm watching a woman back a huge trailer down the ramp with precision, right where it needed to be. i gave her a thumbs up , she smiled , said is was a brand new truck. they put the houseboat looking pontoon on the trailer, and tells her to pull it out. i noticed he never hooked the front but it was a bunk trailer , i didn't really pay much attention. i heard yelling , looked over and it was coming off the trailer. it hit the groove ramp pretty hard, glass breaking, you could hear stuff breaking inside. now there it lays, and here comes the gas. i grabbed the kid and said "let's get out of here" . they were in a bad position and i didn't want to get stuck there. that's a steep ramp, don't know what he was thinking
  9. my town has a big launch that goes directly to the river. so if you go park the truck a cabin cruiser goes by and hits you with 6 ft wakes . i choose 1 town over, smaller launch but in a side creek that then goes to the river. can be tough at low tide , but i have done it forever. i stayed up north and the cabins had a boat launch from hell. i managed and the owner said he had never seen anyone back down that one shot. then at the dock he was surprised how well i could drive. i told i'm used to the river, with tides, waves, wind, and boats. a lake is child's play
  10. yeah, the ramp follies are funny as long as you are not waiting. i went out on the hudson 2 weeks ago, holy shit, no one out! finally a good side to 5.00 gas
  11. boat ramp is ridiculous. one saturday i got tired of a guy and his wife trying to launch. i went over said "let me do it" . his response? " i have to learn sometime" . i said how about not saturday afternoon, maybe a weeknight? he was pissed, but 5-6 tries with the wife yelling left, right, i had enough
  12. i figured as much
  13. no apology needed, we are all big boys here

  18. local garage is now rescue person for dead ev on the side of the road. he uses a diesel generator to charge them . they must love that. it's his most common call
  19. kids have become no concern except being exploited. fighting over bathrooms and gender, meanwhile a local girl is 5 , has cancer. they took one of her arms already. they had a motorcycle rally to raise money for her. so here we have trans folks that were born perfect fighting to change who they are, while this little girl wants to live and keep her body parts.
  20. that girl tried to get away too
