FL where they have no mask rules and no bans on events is having no worse issues than anywhere else.  I'm over masks at this point.  I'll wear one because it's not much of a burden in public but I'll continue to ignore the mandate that basically says I need to wear one when with the group I have spent the last 9 months with at work.

Does this list include non residents living in Florida? Our county listed 15 to 25 cases per day in the early fall none of those cases were living in our county at that time, they were college kids.

A mask doesn't, but lockdowns do.  If masks were the solution, can you point to me where MN implemented a mask mandate?  Should be easy to tell.

The lockdowns in March were understandable.  No one had a clue what was going on or how bad this virus was.  Then there were mask mandates.  They said if we just all wore a mask everything would be ok.  Then the masks mandates were largely followed and cases still exploded.  Then they told us how many people we could have in our homes.  Now we are shutting down businesses again.  Even worse, right now across the entire state of MN it is now unlawful, by executive order, to have anyone visit from outside your own household.  

But keep telling yourself it's just a mask.

Mandates and compliance are two different things.  Point the class to where this is 90-95% compliance.

Other than the local NAPA store with the guy having a mask down on his chin, I can't remember the last person I saw indoors here without a mask on.  I saw a Prius owner driving by themselves today with a mask on.

When COVID numbers were declining I’d estimate 90+% compliance at Fleet Farm.  The last 2-3 months it’s been closer to 50%.  Compliance matters.  Masks work.  But they only work if enough people wear them.

People are still getting together without masks. People are still traveling for no real reason.  All are behaviors experts say spread the virus.  There’s compliance - just not enough.  The last pandemic explosion speaks for itself

It was only about 50% compliance around here until recently. When I was out today I didn't see anyone not wearing a mask.

Does your state not have a mandatory mask order?  MN does, since July 25th.  Can't walk into a store without one.  We have climbed from 500 cases a day to 7800 per day in that time.  Working?

Yes, we have a mask order. The more rural an area that you are in, the less mask use there is. Some stories that I have been in the employees weren't wearing masks or behind plexiglass.

Florida started exploding 3 days after the gates were open. Common sense prevailed and people are protecting themselves. Illinois, Wisconsin etc... took over with their defiance. 

"No fucks given" "I'm done with masks" " masks don't work" in the same sentence as "lots of room in hospitals" is just plain fucking retarded. The infection rate is absolutely insane for a civilized country. Half the guys here know multiple people with it and got it themselves and meanwhile I run an elevator shop smothered in DNA and I still don't know anybody with it.

Actually it proves the point on how effective masks and following basic guidelines are.  Schools are on an alternating schedule all over and health experts agree they should be the last places to close.  Difference is masks are mandatory and enforced, sanitation takes place, and for the most part people keep a reasonable distance. On the other hand - at family gatherings people are lot wearing masks, travel to and from, and generally ignore health guidelines.  It’s really pretty simple for intelligent people.  Low functioning individuals like you do tend to struggle.
