I guess it depends on the "hole".  The US has tremendous homeless "holes".  Three "hots and cot" and free to come and go as you please after BM's.

Maybe we can bomb them like we do poor middle eastern countries? Then we will Garner more support. Make up some stories like they have been talking to Isis or Al queida...

For sure. It's a problem and what do you do about it? I don't think rehab is enough for some. Like I said, batshit crazy. You can't fix that.

They closed the state mental hospitals here....not sure why.

Several here too. Some of the ones that are still open are severely underfunded and in disrepair.

Now that’s using the ol’ brainpot!!!!

Well done!!!!!!

But wait, let’s continue to enable more and more disenfranchisement as socially acceptable.

My town is exceptional at it.  Even luring kids out of “abusive” households.  How dare they be expected to have chores and a curfew!!!!!!!!

All sorts of reasons I’m thinking. Fraud, lack of funding, abuse, social stigma.

Well the upshot of that is these people end up on the streets or in prisons where they don't belong.

1980

President Jimmy Carter signs the Mental Health Systems Act, which aims to restructure the community mental-health-center program and improve services for people with chronic mental illness.

1981

Under President Ronald Reagan, the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act repeals Carter’s community health legislation and establishes block grants for the states, ending the federal government’s role in providing services to the mentally ill.  Federal mental-health spending decreases by 30 percent.
