Former President Trump’s GoFundMe launched in the wake of Hurricane Helene raised more than $3 million Tuesday for individuals impacted by the Category 4 storm.

“President Donald J. Trump has launched this GoFundMe campaign as an official response for MAGA supporters to offer their financial assistance to their fellow Americans impacted by Hurricane Helene,” the page reads.

Meredith O’Rourke, Trump’s campaign finance director, organized the fundraiser, which was supported by Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R), the musician Kid Rock and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White, who contributed $50,000 each.

The top donor is Trump’s close friend, Steve Witkoff, who poured $500,000 into the former president’s disaster relief efforts.

The GOP leader has been accused of “politicizing” Democrats’ hurricane response efforts by falsely claiming President Biden failed to contact Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) to provide resources. Kemp set the record straight Monday praising Biden for his immediate assistance.

Trump visited the state on Monday and distributed supplies to residents. His opponent, Vice President Harris, is expected to visit Georgia on Wednesday to evaluate the storm’s impact. A Tuesday Quinnipiac University poll put Trump ahead of Harris by 6 points in the Peach State.

Maybe this will be the first time a Trump charity actually gives money to needy people.

Either way it’s Trump taking credit for giving away other people’s money.

Sounds socialist.

Funny that you still believe Trump is charitable.

President Donald Trump must personally pay $2 million in fines because he illegally used his charity to benefit his 2016 candidacy. A state judge in New York delivered the judgment on Thursday afternoon. The judicially-assessed penalty must be paid to a number of nonprofit organizations in the Empire State.

What's False

However, neither Trump, nor his children Ivanka and Eric, nor his foundation, were found to have "stolen" or kept any of the donations, and so none of them "admitted to" any such actions. The New York Supreme Court explicitly acknowledged that all the funds raised for veterans groups had ultimately reached veterans groups.

The New York Supreme Court explicitly acknowledged that all the funds raised for veterans groups had ultimately reached veterans groups.

The best part about all this, according to Eric Trump, is the charity’s efficiency: Because he can get his family’s golf course for free and have most of the other costs donated, virtually all the money contributed will go toward helping kids with cancer. “We get to use our assets 100% free of charge,” Trump tells Forbes.

That’s not the case. In reviewing filings from the Eric Trump Foundation and other charities, it’s clear that the course wasn’t free–that the Trump Organization received payments for its use, part of more than $1.2 million that has no documented recipients past the Trump Organization. Golf charity experts say the listed expenses defy any reasonable cost justification for a one-day golf tournament.

Additionally, the Donald J. Trump Foundation, which has come under previous scrutiny for self-dealing and advancing the interests of its namesake rather than those of charity, apparently used the Eric Trump Foundation to funnel $100,000 in donations into revenue for the Trump Organization.

And while donors to the Eric Trump Foundation were told their money was going to help sick kids, more than $500,000 was re-donated to other charities, many of which were connected to Trump family members or interests, including at least four groups that subsequently paid to hold golf tournaments at Trump courses.

NOTHING BURGER.

Neither Trump, nor his children, nor his charity, were found to have "stolen" or kept the funds, and so none "admitted" to such actions (as Rashid falsely claimed in his tweets). The New York Supreme Court explicitly acknowledged that all the funds raised from the January 2016 Iowa event did ultimately end up with veterans groups.

The irony in those claims was that it was, in fact, the manner in which the Trump Foundation and Trump campaign colluded in distributing the donations to veterans charities that landed the president in hot water, not his having "stolen" the donations.

I can see why Trump wants to shut down the department of education.  Right now less than half of you are dumb enough to  consider Trump.
