Because it was a super el nino winter.

There is no denying the snow line is getting higher every year. Regions that rely on lake effect snows are more of a thing of timing and luck. These regions have always had periodical warm ups. Some that kill a season. Some that don't. It's been that way as long as I can remember. Areas that need systems to come through for snow can easily get low snow seasons. It just depends on the jet stream. All this has little to do with climate change.

Winter temps are getting warmer. As far back as you can remember doesn’t cover modern temp and climate records they have going back to the 1800’s. The fact that “winters aren’t what they used to be” like is posted in every sled forum should alert any Sledder that something has changed. The overwhelming amount of evidence points to rising CO2 levels. It’s isn’t political, it isn’t a conspiracy, burning fossil fuels creates CO2.

Less precipitation is not climate change. What overwhelming evidence do you speak of? Is Antarctica growing in size one of them?

Seriously? Why not read the thread and check the links I posted.

Recent research offers new insights on Antarctic sea ice, which, despite global warming, has increased in overall extent over the past 40 years

Winters aren't what they used to be, because the 70's was a much colder and snowier decade than average.

Look at the records for high temps, winter and summer.  If your claims are correct they would be increasing every few years.

So what year has the record high temp in AK ??

What year has the record for lowest snowfall??

Edited by krom

Recent research shows that 87% of Alaskans are inbred.

Is this your uncited proof that climate change is fake? That it’s just a big conspiracy?  :bla:

IMO, if burning fossil fuels is causing climate change, the governments of the world would be banning, at the minimum, any entertainment that uses fossil fuels. Such as NASCAR, F1, any car, motorcycle, snowmobile, airplane etc., racing.

ATVs, pleasure boats, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, etc would also be banned.

No more private jets. Everybody flies commercial and hops on the bus in the sky.

When I see that, I will take it seriously.

It was an interesting article as I wasn’t aware that Antarctic ice had been increasing over a brief period. Unfortunately for your argument it doesn’t disprove that climate change is happening or that warming has ceased.

Ummm 🤔, have you been living under a rock for the past 30 years? Why do you think sleds are now all fuel injected and have to meet ever increasing emission requirements? Why do you think 2 stroke engines are being phased out? Why do you think automobiles have to comply with ever increasing emission standards? Why do you think you now have to buy DEF  fluid for a diesel truck? Why do you think there’s been a big push towards renewable energy, electric cars and looking towards different sources of energy to replace oil?

The signs are all around you. Why you don’t look up to notice is beyond me.

That's your answer to such simple questions???
:bla:

No need to give proof the 70's were below average temps, its common knowledge, and has been posted in here before.

Appreciate the technological advancements and the cleaner burning of fossil fuels and better fuel efficiency.   I'm all good with it. I'm also good with alternative energy systems.

However, if CO2 is such an issue and an emergency, why are we not shutting down the unnecessary use of fossil fuels, ie NASCAR, private jets, etc?

Common sense would dictate that is where you would start first to show everyone that it's a serious issue.

Krom, why do you even bother posting? You ignore the long term trends that temps have been rising at an ever increasing rate since the end of the last ice age. Why is that Krom? Why?

Do you honestly believe any political official would remain in office if they decreed no more private jets, no more NASCAR? Multiple states have already banned the sale of internal combustion engines for light vehicles for 2035. That’s less than 11 years away.

So it's not an emergency. If it was a matter of life or death, the government would step up and enforce a ban on non-essential use of fossil fuels. No more private jets, sleds, ATVs, NASCAR, F1, etc.. Lead by example. Don't just punish us minions.

It looks like we still have 10+ years before it is an emergency.

You are stealing the freedom of everyone around you by insisting on staying with the old fossil fuel burning ways that are negatively impacting the climate and environment.

You sound like the kind of guy that rolls coal on his way to the liquor store to buy a case of cheap shitty beer. Then when you get home you beat your wife and kids and then kick the dog for good measure.

Sounds more like an Eskimo move ... minus the rolling coal.  Everyone knows you can't afford a diesel truck.

Afraid to answer because you know that record highs occurred over 100 years ago??  And because lows and record high snow happened 50 to 75 years after that...

Or are you just that stupid?
