You don’t agree because you lack a solid understanding of basic neurological development. 85 percent of human learning is completed by age 5. The speed of this learning process goes unmatched for the rest of a person’s life and continues to slow as the years tick by. 2 year olds have twice as many brain synapses as adults. Higher education is typically a time when there’s more of a hunger for information. This results in a more open mind. Mainly because the individual is following a path that’s more of a voluntary nature while studying subjects that are of an elevated interest. It just completing such a task makes for a great story and a helluva thrill. They aren’t stupid or lack an ability to learn. Expecting a K-12 kid to understand compexities of media bias, which was the example I gave, has zero to do with impulse control or behaviors having to do with risk and reward. They are skills that develop as an adult. I have actual education in critical thinking processes, which may overlap with Gregs education and mine, but its not the same.
