Some of the same states had rejection rates far greater than the national average in 2016 as high as 4.4%. When you are a high profile figure running for the presidency,, you are a prime target for an extortion attempt, which is what her attorney is in jail for. It would’ve been a huge distraction, and with a guy like Trump. It was easier to just pay her to go away. Obviously, that didn’t happen, they ended up in court and she lost.
