Thanks to all of you who actually put good info on this subject. Yes it ii's kind of dumb to compare a Harley to a sport bike but hey, to each their own. I have owned many sport bikes in my younger years. Had a few jap cruisers but I really like my Harley's. For those who think they cant run, I have a good buddy has a 2002 (I think) Fatboy, smokes everything in the quarter mile for last 3-4 years a our local track. He had to have a custom seat made so you can stay on the thing. I was skeptical but he let me ride it. Told me get on freeway crack it and hold on. She moved! I reached back out to fuel moto today asking about overheating. He guarantees me this is not an issue with the bolt on big bore kits. He assures me I won't go wrong! So more homework I do and then we will see.....Thanks again...

CT Guy. Fucking Nut.

we  have a group of those guys that come to us. trick riders doing crazy shit on a dresser. we add crash bars, change the belt to a steel rear sprocket and a huge chain, i think it's geared pretty low. solid or at least urethane handlebar bushings, wicked strong handlebars . they blow the guts out of the front forks . harley fork pretty basic. race tech sells "emulators" . changes the valving from a hole in metal to a valve stack that is easily tuned. i did that to a tri z 250, has the same fork design, and the owner was blown away. i set it where i thought was good and he said it's spot on. then says maybe tune a touch, i say bring it over. he says it it's good enough, not worth putting in the truck. that means it's good. any of you harley guys should check them out.
