gotta keep all those government employees happy... ;)

Yeah, remember when they stopped paying the non-essential employees back when this happened before.  Now they are suing?

it's an interesting read and angle of attack regarding obligations.  I'll read more about it when time allows.

haven't heard more about Biden, McCarthy meeting recently...

You won't.  It is very damaging to the biden administration.  For Karine Jean-Pierre to constantly say that the democrats will not agree to spending cuts, should be a black eye for them.  Almost all taxpayers that know that spending is out of hand.

Rethugs passed an unfunded $2.3 TRILLION corporate tax cut under trump, then raised the debt ceiling (with NO preconditions) 3 times while ballooning the deficit, and NOW under Biden they’re refusing to pay THEIR bills?

You are easily gut hooked by a narrative.  And it was an old boomer democrat that just gut hooked you.

100% a lie.  The democrats are trying so hard to shift the focus and we have people like this who help them.  Bottom line right now is the fact that R's are passing a bill to cut spending and democrats will not cut any spending.

The US has a spending problem been recognized by most on this forum including mc and the only group in washington right now that won't cut spending is DEMOCRATS.

I don't think so.  There is absolutely no reason for R's to cave on this.

If you think the R's took a hit on abortion, wait and see what happens if they don't raise the debt limit.

It's not on the Republicans, they have a bill to raise it, the democrats are the ones holding it up.  But hey, don't let that ruin the narrative.

The dems made the abortion issue out of something it wasn't.  It is a state issue.  The states are the ones that need to address abortion, the feds proved they couldn't do that for the last 40+ years.  But it proved to work for them as c2c and you both were convinced it was woman's rights being taken away, when in fact it was moving the issue to states rather than feds, nothing more.

And you can tell yourself anything you want if it makes you feel better, but face it it cost the rep., and so will not raising the debt limit.

Only to people who want to ignore the real facts of what is going on.  The MSM, repubs and conservatives all need to explain the fact that not one dem  will agree to cut spending

It is when they just recently raised it 3 times, sorry you can't see it for what it is.

Every dem will vote to raise the debt limit, as it stands now the rep. won't, but hopefully they come to their senses and vote to raise it, just like they did before, and if they don't they will pay a price at election time.  Spending cuts and raising the debt ceiling are actually 2 separate issues.

But the price at the pump will come down.

Thankfully it already has come down quite a bit, I know the pres. had nothing to do with that, it's only when the price goes up that he is involved.
