Why McCarthy isn't speaker yet.

Recommended Posts

At least nothing can get voted on while the temper tantrum continues.

No voting = no new spending, so they are at least getting some of what they want.

It's a game of retarded chicken, while the Dems look on, resolved.

Just take a good look at what these 21 reps want or the reasons they are not voting for him.

Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C.: The House Freedom Caucus member was one of seven members to sign a "Dear Colleague" letter outlining concerns, like "increasingly centralized decision-making power" that result in "massive, multi-subject bills that are unable to be amended or fully read, all driven by supposedly must-pass defense and appropriations measures" that amass large debt.

(The other six to sign the letter were: Republican Reps. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania; Paul Gosar of Arizona, Andy Ogles of Tennessee, Chip Roy of Texas, Andrew Clyde of Georgia and Eli Crane of Arizona.)

Bob Good, R-Va.: Good, who has been at the forefront of the opposition, seems like one of the most dug in members. Good calls McCarthy part of the "swamp cartel," claims that despite giving McCarthy a chance over the last couple of years, he hasn't done enough to stop massive spending bills and hasn't fought hard enough against the "Biden-Schumer agenda." He's also been critical of McCarthy's PAC spending money, he says, against conservatives. McCarthy's PAC said Wednesday night that it promised not to play in open primaries where there is no incumbent.

Can any of the brain trust here think of a way this ends?

Let's get back to regular order so the people can have representative voting their interest.  Omnibus bills coming out of a closed Door committee isn't representative govt.

I think I heard that the last spending bill was thousands of pages and they had hours to look over it.

That's just wrong.

That would be the first thing that must be changed.

Nominate Lee Zeldin fuck these swamp creatures both dem and repubs, worthless fucks

It might be a gong show and possibly unworkable, but the Repubs should be doing this in a closed door private meeting.

Airing of dirty laundry like this is doing them no favors.

Conservatives up here have been eating their own for a couple years.

The left wing media and governing party is using it to the max.

The speaker does not need a seat as far as I know.

It could be Side Show Bob from Springfield I believe.

I follow your politics more than ours now.

We've been fucked for 7 years, and watching it causes depression and drinking.

I figured that.

BUT, if they can't agree on a sitting member, perhaps they could rally around someone else.

Perhaps someone who may run for President next round.

Ron?

Just offering solutions to end this shit show from Republicans.

The left wing up here came up with a solution to a problem.

The two left wing parties agreed to support each other, and now equal a majority, and can fuck Canadians at will.

The left is just better at playing the game by the rules.

I think Zeldin would be a great choice personally.

It’s amazing you can’t see this.

I don't blindly follow what liberal media.  Why are you against what they are standing for?

Don't you want term limits?  Don't you want bills with less pork in them?  Don't you think government spending has gone out of control?

Care to answer any of those?

Really?  There are some here who don't think that exists.  Mostly democrat voters.  But please start another thread and we can discuss it there.

Meanwhile, we have representatives that want term limits, less pork, less spending, and smaller less complicated legislation and you think they are the ones that had elections ripe with voter fraud?  Wow, interesting concept.
