ev service not gonna be cheap. we had to buy a ridiculous amount of special equipment to take car of them. 12k for lift arms, charging station inside and out, all kinds of tools and training, and of course a fork lift to remove the batteries. we have a 10k cart to hold the batteries while they are out.

Any dealer that sells Cadillac is supposedly on the hook for providing charging stations for the new EV now. Is that true?

we have gmc. not sure about caddy but i believe it. we have one inside for our use, but the outside one you have to pay for. the village here has a free one across the street but it is slow. looks like the same tesla there all the time. that caddy ev is biiiig money!

Should check the cost of a replacement engine that is in a car that as quick as an EV.  Both are wear items.  Both have similar life expectancies and both are god awful to replace.

today's engines with maintenance go a long way. and they can be repaired in part. i know right now a 5.3 in a pickup runs about 8k parts and labor. plus there are a thousand shops capable of that repair. ev gonna be real dealer dependent . no one has talked about motor replacement, wiring, control modules, controls, wheel bearings, etc. . then you have collision repair, special tires, led lighting for power saving but very expensive replacement. tail light on a new sierra is 720.00.

A 5.3 isn't going to keep up with a normal EV.  Go price a M5 motor or a CTS-V motor.  That is more akin to the battery.

Either way, EV's are still in their infancy.  If the tech had just double the range they do now the adoption would be monstrous in comparison.  Without range anxiety or being a motorhead there is basically no reason for an ICE ...but of course anxiety still exists and logically so.

no but an ev isn't gonna tow your boat 150 miles without stopping either. cts v engine is 10440.00 . there is more to it than how fast it is. i just looked at the motor for that volt. the drive motor "rotor" that is basically the armature, is 2k. and VERY deep in the car. probably 4k out the door. and that's just the rotor, many parts in that car that can fail
