Not a single conservative on this site agreed with the Spending.  But I am so sick of the fact that you dipshits seem to forget how Pelosi would not agree to what Trump wanted for spending.  Why do you all seem to forget that?

Now you’re going on about Pelosi…

Actually I am trying to remind people how the spending negotiations went.  Because I knew when it was going on, that it was going to be blamed on Trump by design.  And guess what, people like you just fall in line.  Go look it up, or go do a search on here.  Trump and Pelosi were back and forth on the budget and guess WHO wanted more money.

July 22, 2019

President Trump announced Monday afternoon that he had reached a deal with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other congressional leaders to raise spending on both defense and non-defense programs over the next two years and suspend the nation’s borrowing limit.

If passed, the agreement would avoid steep automatic cuts set to take effect for fiscal year 2020 and defuse the threat of a possible debt default.

“I am pleased to announce that a deal has been struck with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy — on a two-year Budget and Debt Ceiling, with no poison pills,” the president tweeted. “This was a real compromise to give another big victory to our Great Military and Vets!”

The deal will likely face stiff pushback from fiscal conservatives as well as from Democrats angered over some concessions made by Pelosi and party leaders. But if it passes, it “would amount to an against-the-odds victory for Washington pragmatists seeking to avoid politically dangerous tumult over fiscal deadlines,” Andrew Taylor of the Associated Press wrote before Trump’s announcement. “Nobody can claim a big win, but both sides view it as better than a protracted battle this fall that probably wouldn’t end up much differently.”

Trump and Republicans can point to another year of increased defense spending, while Pelosi and her caucus can say they protected the domestic programs they prioritize. And both sides can breathe a sigh of relief about avoiding a debt crisis that could have shaken markets and the economy.

Lift spending levels over the next two years by about $320 billion. That total is $30 billion less than Democrats reportedly had wanted, but it does achieve their desired goal of providing equal-sized increases for defense and non-defense outlays. “In the end, domestic programs would on average receive 4% increases in the first year of the pact, with much of those gains eaten up by veterans increases and an unavoidable surge for the U.S. Census,” Taylor says. “Defense would jump to $738 billion next year, a 3% hike.” But economist Ernie Tedeschi notes that if you look at the deal over two years, the annual spending increases are roughly the same as adjusting actual 2019 spending for fairly low levels of inflation.

Everyone seems to forget what Trump was trying for:

Trump entered the talks hoping to cut spending, and he certainly didn’t want a deal that increased domestic spending more than the Pentagon’s budget.

He’s taking criticism from conservatives who say he should have done more to reduce deficits; The Drudge Report spent much of the day featuring a picture of Trump shaking Pelosi’s hand and a headline warning of more spending and debt.

Yet Trump doesn’t emerge as a loser in the deal given the likelihood that the agreement will further boost the U.S. economy — which is greatly linked to his reelection chances.

The $49 billion in deficit-financed new spending next year will further stimulate an economy that already has low unemployment, providing momentum as effects from the GOP tax cuts fade away.

hopefully pelosi,s days are numbered.           :flush:

I don't think that matters.  The minions believe anything the democrats say.  There are idiots here constantly blaming trump for the spending.  FFS they just believe what they are told and forget that trump was constantly fight pelosi and the dems over the cuts he wanted and in the end, the spending increased, but just not as much as the democrats wanted.

Trump didn’t exactly turn the taps off either.

Same up here.

Ontario elected a “conservative” government 4 years ago. They have added 100 billion to the debt and won’t balance the budget until 2028, according to their own election platform. It’s lunacy, and the other two parties in the upcoming election say it’s not enough spending.

I got a email from the Conservative party last month, asking if I’d like a large lawn sign again. I’ve put them up for the previous 2 elections. Hold off on that I replied, I’m hoping another party comes around, with a candidate that can win and return us to sanity, if not I’ll hold my nose and vote for the lesser of the 3 evils.

My sign guy came through. I sent him a draft for lawn signs and he dropped them off last week.

They are going out on the boulevard, that tens of thousands will see.

My wife thinks it was a waste of money. I think it pretty much sums up this election.

Who, at this point in the race? The Election is on June 2nd, basically 4-5 weeks away. The lesser of the 3 evils is basically all we've had recently. Well, until Ford after the Wynne fiasco, but this year is different. I detest the Liberals and of course the NDP so it basically leaves me no choice.

Admit to the fact the Doug is a liberal in a blue suit.

He has spent more money per year than both Wynne and Mcguinty.

Hardly a conservative.

We are fucked.

The Dope is adding trillions, the fraud adding billions to what future generations have to pay back.

I am actively looking to slow my work schedule down, grow food at home and take advantage of all the largesse the guberment it going to hand me.

Its the only way, for myself as a worker and business owner to get an upper deck chair on the sinking province.

I’ll at least enjoy the sinking for as long as it lasts.

I hear ya, but this Liberalism that we are experiencing with Trudope is something else. Trust me, I wish there were more solid choices but at this point and with the short time frame, I can't see me voting for anyone other than the Ford no matter how much it will pain me.

I will likely have no choice but to vote for for Ford and the Conservative party.

it does not make me happy.

The lesser of 3 evils, is still evil.

If you have them, thank your kids for me.

We’ve fucked them hard, but I didn’t do that by choice.

Write that in my gravestone.

On the plus side they only owe 100 grand in government debt, which is a small portion of the million dollars they need to buy a house.

Just tack on another %10 to the monthly mortgage and we’re good.
