What kind of Frankenstein are you still keeping alive until COVID car pricing is over?

Wife drives a 12 Venza that's in great condition with only 130k we'll probably give to our daughter in a year or two and replace hers with a hybrid or EV

My personal science project is an 06 Tahoe that just rolled 276k on the way home.  Runs great, drives great, salt is starting to take it's toll but I plan to get one more winter and 300k+ out of it.  Then hopefully replace it in spring.

Update 3/1/2022

Frankenstein rolled 10,000 engine hours today on the way home from work... or 416.6666666666667 days.

Onwards to 300K we go before summer.  :lmao:

  • About to let my Escalade go.  165k on it with 100 of it being under boost. He has had to deal with Clown550 so yes I guess.

  • Yeah i can really rack up the miles on a good year. I only run October to july then take the summer off. Someday i keep thinking i should put in a full year to see how many miles i can do  but i don't

My Duramax has appreciated since I bought it. Probably the last time I’ll ever be able to say that about a vehicle.

Some people ... thought the steering wheel was going to literally come off in their hands.

Totally aware. Most of these people hadn’t washed their shit in months, had months worth of trash on the floor or had other steering/suspension parts LITERALLY falling the fuck off but god damn that stupid I shaft clunk. :flush:

Bonus points for shit on the floor that can get stuck under the pedals.

Had a Cavalier come in one time that needed a brake switch. Every inch of the interior except the drivers seat, center console, headliner and dash was covered in cans of cat food. Fucking thing stunk like hell too. Had an ASEP student at the time that got a quick lesson in why the job sucks the big one sometimes.

That’s pretty impressive 800k is a lot of miles. Are you the original owner and put all those miles on? Liberty at 140k is damn impressive too 😂

Absolutely, it has wipers on the headlights..  and one windshield wiper.

The later Chrysler/ mercedes with the Round headlights are JUNK...

Huge rust issues, cheaper quality in all ways, and NO TURBOS.  Lots of engine changes,  gut less wonders.

Bought it as a dealer demo new...

I've driven it 99.95% of those miles.

Jeep runs great ...  in for rockers + paint.

2006 Silverado HD - 220,000

2006 Grand Prix - 190,000

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee- 210,000

I don’t plan to replace either of mine soon and the wife won’t let that GC go for nothing.

Nope. Allison. Though I am going to freshen/beef it up (hopefully soon) so I can turn the engine up and not have to worry about hurting the trans.
