Kentucky Derby

Speaking of gambling, I know a friend who makes 6 figures and is broke 3 days after he gets his check. He usually misses work the very next day after getting paid.   Doesn't drink, but will be in a bar betting those poker machines.  Not so long ago, he had 12500 on a monday, broke by friday.  It all goes into the machines.

addictions a scary thing.  I used to tell one of my fellow managers he should schedule his branch meetings for 11 with AA at 10, GA at 9 and NA at 8 as most of his staff needed some or all of the meetings.

I went to Naples - Ft Myers dog racing track last year before they closed it down. Glad I went but wasn't in a hurry to go back if it had stayed open. Horse track just north of me here closed down some years ago. Still have a local redeo a few miles up the road though

Ft Myers track is /was a dump . Kinda sad with the number of there key demographic around the place

It was an interesting night especially when one of the dogs decided to run the opposite way. But yeah I was a bit surprised it wasn't a little nicer all things considered

I always bet on the dog that crapped on the track before the race. They never even showed.

I thought I was the only one that did that, the theory being they would be lighter.

I owned and raced harness horses prior to and after the casinos opened, the purses were 2 to 3 times greater after the casinos opened but the competition due to the money was even greater, the drug trainers dominate the sport that's why I gave it up.

Northville downs is still going.  Betting on the ponies is not really my thing, but it is fun to do every now and then.

Still have them at my local county fair or at least they did in 2019.   Whole fair was cancelled last year.   A classmate of my brothers dad did it also.  In fact he was the one who turned me into the NCAA for making money playing ball and got me suspended.

Our fair is like a mile from my house, that's where we trained our horses, stabled there sometimes but also shipped back and forth from home. Sadly many in the horse business are the most crooked fuckers you will ever meet.
