Lack of snow may kill snowmobiling long before the banning of New vehicle Ice sales.  But it does make sense that if there are fewer and fewer ICE vehicles on the road the less and less availability of petrol stations everywhere.  Power sports better really look at electric and development cause it will need to happen for the longevity of the power sports industry

Polaris has partnered up with zero motorcycles and will have a battery sled soon I bet. It would work in an area like where I ride but places like Quebec and the Yoop probably would be screwed unless you can pack a bunch of spare batteries.

the cold is so hard to overcome i don't see them viable anytime soon.  takes a lot more power to spin a track than a tire on a street.

I wonder if they can just make the tunnel a giant battery because they wont need heat exchangers. Give us 300 mile range would be great. But the hotels might have to upgrade their charging capabilities LOL

Dude those lithium ion batteries are lighter than fuck. I swapped out mine on the assault and the new battery weighs 1.6 lbs(shaved 10 lbs off) When you hold it you cant even believe its going to work. And with an electric motor they are going to be faster than ever. except for maybe some of the turbos.

I put a new battery on mine last year but didn't switch to the Lithium Ion. Those are supposedly good to -20 so maybe I try that next. Every time I see people complain about the weight of sleds I just chuckle at the big tanks I used to trail ride in the late 90's

Oh yeah those old triples were hogs. Four strokes are getting better but could you imagine a sub 300 lb sled that's faster than an 850? Dayum....

Electric will easily surpass a two stroke with reliable performance...  good thing is your maintenance will go to almost zero....  ride them and put them away without all the work to get them ready to put away.  And then not have the work of getting them ready for the season.  Maybe besides a few grease points and bearings on the skid..

yeah im thinking a couple grease zerks and check the bearings. wtf else you gonna do? Going to put alot of aftermarket companies under. No big bore kits, no clutch kits, no belts, reeds, etc...

Wonder if they will stick with a cvt system or have some sort of direct or gear drive?  Not having to fuck around with clutching or $100 plus dollar belts would be a big bonus as well.

I wouldn't see the need for a CVT system on a sled.   Wouldn't make any sense with how they can control electric motor speed thru a controller.   I can see a gearcase or belt drive system just for the need of where to place the electric motor.   Seems it would be a waste of money.

That Tiaga sled is heavier than what we’re riding and has a 60 mile range. Lighter would have to be some new battery tech that we don’t have yet.
