Real estate is great if it provides cash flow although when the shit hits the fan the lack of liquidity in it means you should have some other investments as well as it doesn't help in a cash crunch. Other option is to have equity lines available but often those get cut off as well. I see some people who think just owning land is "investing" in real estate but most often they own that land either in areas where it will never significantly appreciate or where they have no actual plan to monetize it. I have 10 acres that will become 4 house lots but the process to do that is long and until that happens their is no increase in value. I'd have been better putting that money in the stock market. I liquidated all long positions today at my all time high. I will use all money available to me to bet against this fraud.
