I don't know the situation, but if they had hardships, you can apply for government assistance other than the stimulus. The people who are still working would be the ones benefiting from a tax holiday and since they're still working, they are not really in a hardship are they? It makes no sense to help people who don't need and shaft those that do. Plus the stimulus as implemented provided a bigger quicker boost than a tax holiday could have provided which was necessary to counteract the sudden and drastic downturn. I proposed the way to stop that while trying to provide assistance. When people say this needed to happen, FAST, while they may have been correct, the argument is flawed as many people have yet to see their UE or stimulus check. Actually if unemployment took effect then they would have gotten that. It doesn't account for glitches in the system. And the plan that I talked about just doesn't give money DIRECTLY to people. That's why it makes sense for EVERYONE except the fringe cases that are being described. I am really sick of providing the solid reasoning behind the idea as there are a few here that will constantly rally against trying it. Which makes zero sense. The people that need to benefit are the ones who pay little to no taxes they have little money to start with so they can't wait it out.
