Platinum Contributing Member Highmark Posted January 6, 2020 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted January 6, 2020 Everyone not a boomer: The boomers are the reason we are $21 Trillion in debt. Also almost everyone that is not a boomer: Lets add $6 trillion a year in spending of which there is no conceivable way to pay for it. Oh and lets give govt control over every single aspect of our life. GMAFB. Like every generation since boomers are different in their thoughts on what govt should and should not do. Listen Sir , there is no conceivable way to pay for any of it. If we are going to print money like it's our job let's do it to take care of people instead of start wars to make rich people richer. It's that simple

It's that simple No, lets simply stop spending so we don't have to print money. In the end Ben there are things like UNC that concern me more than just the cost. The spending Trump has signed off on has not grown exponentially. Not even close. You also have to realize a POTUS' first year in office is not their budget. I give a tiny amount of credit to Trump as he did try and reign it in and did shut down govt for a while. The house holds the purse and when the dems took control it would be impossible for him to get any meaningful spending reform done without long, long govt shutdown of which the public has little stomach for. Its important to look at what the POTUS submits to the house vs what comes out of the house. You also have to understand the difference between discretionary and mandatory spending. A massive chunk of federal spending the POTUS has basically ZERO to do with. Obama submitted $4.147 trillion in 2017. Trump submitted $4.097 in 2018. None of us agree with the spending. It's just that simple. Some just disagree with anything and everything because that's what they are about. It's childish and just gets stale. Dummies.
