f7ben
The problem is the the piggy backs cannot adjust timing or rev limit. It basically adds boost and fuel. The stock programmed boost/timing curve drops off substantially after 7900. There is no reason for this other than that is how the factory programmed it. The 1100T engine is much happier at 8100 rpms vs 7800. What I mean by this is detonation is less likely at 8100-8500 vs 7800. The rpms where detonation is most prevalent is 7500 to 7800. Unfortunately this is where the stock boost timing curve makes maximum power. At stock boost levels, this is not a problem. Our tune makes maximum power (within a percent or two) from 7800 all the way to 8500. The other reason why people with piggybacks are hitting the rev limit is because if stock clutching is used, the increased power will put you above 8000 rpms which is too close to the stock rev limit. With ours, you can use your stock clutching, spin the motor at 8100-8200 and not change any cluching. The other features of our flash not mentioned above are: Better, smoother idle, water temp rescaling (prevents the motor from burning down due to overheating by engaging protection maps 20 deg F earlier), removal of the stage 1 cold rev limit (this allows you to pull your sled out of the trailer within 30-45 seconds of starting vs 5 minutes with the factory programming on cold days), knock sensor scaling to 8500 rpms to match the rev limit,

f7ben
That's adding 70hp to stock clutching and having it work wonderfully according to one of the lead cat tuners on earth. Sorry faggots , you lose again

Oh, I can buy you tune and run stock clutching and it's going to work. With the right fuel the 1100 was fast at 7800 because it makes more power there. The problem isn't the clutching at 7800, it's the load put on the motor at 7800 and without great fuel you get detonation. Running it at a higher rpm where you have less timing is a bandaid for poor fuel
Rod
Of course it has less detonation at high rpm dummy it has less cylinder pressure because it’s making less power

He's talking about running your tuned 1100 at 8100 becuase there is less timing at that RPM level. The stock setup ran at 7800 which has more timing at that rpm level. When you increase the booth the RPM's increase as the extra power pushes the stock clutching past 7800. His contention is don't load the motor with heavier clutching to bring it back to 7800 as the higher boost combined with the heavier load to get it back to 7800 along with the more aggressive timing will cause detonation. if you have good fuel it's irrelevant and the sled will make more power at 7800. You know you are right that you can run it at 8100 and it will be fine no one is saying your wrong well I'm not at least.

It’s also out of its torque range so the cylinder pressures are lower, which makes it detonate less. But only because it makes less power there to say the engine is “happier” there is just pandering to idiots. It’s the shitty fuel that’s happier there on a shitty tune

Listen dude....hes talking about lowering timing slightly and extending the timing curve , knock protection and rev limiter past 8500. The stock map is very fuel sensitive at 11.5 lbs boost and 7700 rpm You can run 18lbs of boost on the same fuel by simply letting rpm rise and altering the ignition map to a much more boost friendly one. This isnt rocket science and the sled running 18lbs boost will absolutely lay a fucking beating on the sled running 11.5 with identical clutching in both
