revrnd
Quote Worst of all, more than five million people practise open defecation, resulting in most of the country’s beaches, drains, bushes, and some potential tourist sites heavily polluted with human faeces. The Northern and Upper East Regions for instance have open defecation rates as high as about 70% of their respective populations. The impact is that almost every year there is a cholera outbreak, while close to 20,000 people die of diarrhoea annually. Economically, the country loses about $290 million every year due to poor management of the country’s sanitation. I wonder if Ghana made it onto The Donald's list of shitholes? The CBC ought to do a story on this. Edited May 30, 2018 by revrnd

revrnd
Last night watching the latest reports on the pipeline & had to shake my head @ the hypocrisy of the protestors. One chap was lugging around plastic tote bins while some other footage showed dozens of plastic kayaks being launched. Would these be petroleum based products or can plastic be made from something like say hemp? Edited May 31, 2018 by revrnd

Pt3189
Hey Rev, any chance you are voting NDP in the Peterborough riding? This Sean Conway is the type of candidate Horwath can really stand behind. After all he has released solo cd’s and he books bands at a local watering hole. Seems qualified to handle our provincial dollars.

In 2012, a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found that smoking cannabis does not cause significant damage to the lungs. Tobacco, however, can be extremely damaging. The study followed a cohort of 5115 men in four US cities. Not only did the study find no correlation between habitual cannabis consumers and lung disease or cancer, the researchers found that cannabis consumers had an interesting advantage. Habitual cannabis consumers had a greater lung capacity. Though, admittedly, the improvement was small. The herb-lovers had a 1.6% advantage over non-consuming counterparts. That’s equivalent 50 milliliters, which is about one-seventh of a soda can. https://herb.co/marijuana/news/smoking-weed-lungs
