J. Jackson
I've found that most people who like to talk about their money, especially to strangers, are not very rich in many ways. You fit the profile to a T.
SSFB
We will see I guess. I bank where I work and we get 1.5% on checking accounts. No monthly fee.

After getting a home loan they opened two credit cards in the family’s name without permission. Then began slamming him with service fees. He was also hit with a mortgage lock fee that was never discussed. I believe it was a $1200 fee. He’s wasn’t very savvy on mortgages so he didn’t challenge it. He’s still waiting for his reimbursement from the lawsuit settlement. Edited August 12, 2019 by spin_dry

ArcticCrusher
Not sure what impact bond yields have to do with savings/checking accounts. Here most brick and mortar banks are pushing monthly or per transaction fees unless you have a balance of xx or more. Many virtual banks have opened with zero fees so there many options, fuck any bank or institution that changes anything to hold cash. When will cashable GIC's have a negative return?
