Their tax return showed that they paid $3.24 million in federal income taxes.

That means their effective tax rate -- a measure of their income tax burden -- was 30.6% based on their adjusted gross income. That's on par with their 32% effective rate in 2014.

The campaign reported the Clintons' effective tax rate as 34%, which includes the more than $300,000 the couple paid in self-employment taxes, which are payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare. Experts often don't include them when calculating federal income tax burdens.

By any measure, though, Hillary Clinton and her husband have satisfied the Buffett Rule that she'd like to impose if elected. Under that rule, anyone with adjusted gross income over $1 million would have to pay a minimum of 30% of their income in taxes.

I don't disagree that its his right to do so, I just laugh at his hypocrisy.  

The law Trump used is not designed specifically for the wealthy.   ANYONE can write off capital losses.  Hell gambling losses are deductible.

But you admit to legally using the laws to avoid paying FICA and Medicare taxes. 

Funny thing is what you are doing CAN be illegal.   There are laws against not justly compensating yourself.   The way I see it you are not important to the company in the eyes of the IRS or they simply haven't caught you yet.   Either is quite funny.  I guess people with spouses who work for the IRS get special treatment. 

You can minimize employment taxes by taking a salary in the lowest reasonableamount for the type of work you perform for the business.

Determining a reasonable salary may be done by comparing the average wages paid in the marketplace for similar work. If your business is new (one or two years old) and earnings are low or you're losing money, a lower than market salary can be justified.
