Platinum Contributing Member SnowRider Posted October 4, 2016 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Don't let desperation get the best of you. Think before you post Hillary Clinton's 2015 tax return shows $10.6 million in income, 31% rate -- and puts pressure on Donald Trump Your move, Mr. Trump. After hammering Donald Trump on the campaign trail for refusing to reveal his tax returns, Hillary Clinton released her latest federal income tax return Friday, showing she and Bill paid roughly a third of their multi-million dollar income to Uncle Sam. The Clintons pulled in $10.6 million in 2015, much less than the nearly $28 million they made the year before. Powered by SmartAsset.com Their tax return showed that they paid $3.24 million in federal income taxes. That means their effective tax rate -- a measure of their income tax burden -- was 30.6% based on their adjusted gross income. That's on par with their 32% effective rate in 2014. The campaign reported the Clintons' effective tax rate as 34%, which includes the more than $300,000 the couple paid in self-employment taxes, which are payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare. Experts often don't include them when calculating federal income tax burdens. By any measure, though, Hillary Clinton and her husband have satisfied the Buffett Rule that she'd like to impose if elected. Under that rule, anyone with adjusted gross income over $1 million would have to pay a minimum of 30% of their income in taxes. http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/12/pf/taxes/hillary-clinton-tax-return/index.html Edited October 4, 2016 by SnowRider

sear
Hypocrite Hillary Clinton Used SAME TAX AVOIDANCE LAW as Trump hypocrisy (hî-pòk´rî-sê) noun plural hypocrisies The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess [Middle English ipocrisie, from Old French, from Late Latin hypocrisis, play-acting, pretense, from Greek hupokrisis, from hupokrinesthai, to play a part, pretend : hupo-, hypo- + krinesthai, to explain (from krinein, to decide, judge).] Excerpted from The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Third Edition © 1996 by Houghton Mifflin Company. It's hypocrisy to advocate one thing, and think another. But Hillary is no more hypocritical about it than Donald. Donald has said on open mike on camera that the tax laws should be changed. BUT !! They've filed their taxes in accordance with the law as written. That's not hypocrisy. Not for Donald. Not for Hillary.

sear
r2 #11 Yes. But the tables determine the amount of tax for those obliged by law to pay. Different story for Trump. Trump is reported to have paid no federal income tax for 18 years. That's not because of tables. That's because the $fat $cat real estate moguls had loopholes written into our labyrinthine tax code that exempted them. - In addition: We don't have much detail. Someone leaked 3 pages of a private tax return to a The New York Times reporteress. Trump says he's not releasing his tax information because certain years are under audit. a) There's no law prohibiting him from disclosing / releasing, despite the audit. b) Trump could release his documentation for years not under audit. It's quite clear Trump is hiding something here. AND !! Trump followed the law, allegedly. Fine. Guess what. It's legal to go to a pornography theater in a trench coat and watch movies all day. Would you want to vote for him for president?

Fact You take a much lower salary than you should to avoid paying the FICA/Medicare taxes and take distributions to pay yourself. 14.65% on the first $110K plus 2.25% on anything above that. Considering this could be as much as $16,000 a year I'd say its significant. How do you like fucking all those little old ladies out of their bennies MC? You are quite the Patriotic American. I bet the vast majority of American's would love to have an extra $15,000 to $20,000 in their pockets instead of the govts every year. Yeah you keep supporting the carnival barker.....you deserve him. But you admit to legally using the laws to avoid paying FICA and Medicare taxes. Funny thing is what you are doing CAN be illegal. There are laws against not justly compensating yourself. The way I see it you are not important to the company in the eyes of the IRS or they simply haven't caught you yet. Either is quite funny. I guess people with spouses who work for the IRS get special treatment. You can minimize employment taxes by taking a salary in the lowest reasonableamount for the type of work you perform for the business. Determining a reasonable salary may be done by comparing the average wages paid in the marketplace for similar work. If your business is new (one or two years old) and earnings are low or you're losing money, a lower than market salary can be justified.
