Trump is right: Walls work on the southern border

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) contend the crisis on the U.S. southern border is manufactured.

Yet, The Washington Post, no friend to the Trump Administration, disagrees. According to the Post, the situation on the southern border is indeed “a bona fide emergency.”

Record numbers of migrant families are coming to the United States, the U.S. immigration courts have a backlog in excess of 800,000 cases and the holding cells and detention centers are at overflow capacity.

Add in the fact that scores of Americans are killed by illegal immigrantsevery month, the tremendous strain illegal aliens place on the nation’s social welfare system, not to mention the human trafficking, drugs and crime burdening American citizens.

Still crickets from the left.

Luckily for the White House, Americans by and large are not buying what Congressional Democrats are selling when it comes to the southern border. They want strong border security. A recent survey from Morning Consult shows that 79 percent of registered voters see the situation at the southern border as a “crisis” or “problem.”

That is about value of the land reimbursement.   Won't stop putting up the barrier.    There is an permanent govt easement on the border.   Just like a road.

No easement in Texas.  Even if there were, it's not uncommon for the fence/wall to end up 3/4 of a mile inside the border due to terrain/river flooding/straight line efficiency.  Though they can seize the land prior to resolving lawsuits.

Many of the very rough area's they won't likely build a barrier.

A wall on our southern border would serve only to shift where the Fentanyl comes in. More will come through Canada and directly from China to the US. The answer to the drug problem is to decrease demand, because you will never put a stop to the supply.

I guess minus the fact that 90% of the drugs come in through legal points of entry, and if you put in monitoring systems, and man power to stop the people going under or over the barrier,  you no longer need a barrier because you have the monitoring in place, and the man power to stop them.

You can repeat this information until the end of time...certain people are just not very smart and they have an innate need to be contrarian and to support Trump....being Canadian only makes it worse.

Reality is this.   We have upwards of 32 million people here illegally.   Yes many have overstayed Visa's.   We have anywhere from 600K to a million coming in illegally or staying illegally.   If you cannot see that as a huge issue/crisis/emergency then so be it.   Many American's do.

It would be like 100K coming into Canada illegally a year and 3 million there illegally.   If you think for a second that would go over well in Canada you are kidding yourselves.

How come the repugs didn’t prioritize a ‘crisis’?

Some did some didn't.   Yes they were split on it but in order to get more border security an easy path to citizenship was the price.   I wouldn't accept that either.

Yes I do put much of the blame on the GOP for not getting things done when they had more ability to do so.   But remember with the filibuster its not as easy as a SC confirmation.

He has also appeared on CNN. Follow him on Twitter @FordOConnell.

still pushing that BS huh? there is not one damn supportive comment about a concrete wall in that hack source. the author refers to fencing. the fact you didn't quote a damn thing about a wall is a telltale sign of your nonsense. the dems want a strong border, they just don't feel a concrete wall is the way to do it. now i suspect you'll repeat this BS again in about 2 days, if not sooner.
