Fire is how mom keeps the forest healthy. The issue isn’t a lack of selective cutting. This issue is a lack of fires. Waste materials build up on the forest floor by the forest service not allowing the occasional fire typically caused by lighting strikes to pass through. Conservation and environmental groups have been warning about this for years.

They have banned wood burning fire places in new houses some years ago. If you want to put in a wood burning boiler, ( out door stove) It’s required to have all sorts of scrubbers and catalyst.
