Any none native species should be removed or clear cut. This shit has been going on for years. You either do selective cutting or Mother Nature will clear it for them. My cabin is in the ONF and my insurance on it is big money because they know it will be a total lose if there is ever a fire. They allow selective logging in most of the woods by me. You can’t even tell it was done a few years later, other than it’s not full of half dead shit. Fire is how mom keeps the forest healthy. The issue isn’t a lack of selective cutting. This issue is a lack of fires. Waste materials build up on the forest floor by the forest service not allowing the occasional fire typically caused by lighting strikes to pass through. Conservation and environmental groups have been warning about this for years.

It’s ok to clear cut for the 10mill house but don’t you dare selective cut the view of that 10 mill home. They also keep closing down forest roads to ORV, these roads would be kept clear by the users. Years later, the road is over grown . You now lost a fire break and they can’t get equipment or personnel in to fight a fire if there is one. Open up all US forest to UTV, ATV, and off-road use for firewood cutting of dead and diseased trees for profit. Forest would be cleaned up in a decade

I agree, keep ORV out of protective land, but at the end of the day it’s public land. Closure is not management.

If you want to put in a wood burning boiler, ( out door stove) It’s required to have all sorts of scrubbers and catalyst.

revkevsdi
Meanwhile. Lets see record fires in The US and Canada, 70% of Venice under water. More violent and frequent storms... But someone interpreted Gore’s comments to mean he took credit for inventing the internet so he can’t be trusted.
