I can make some hand-loads for the 222, or 257. I'll make them REAL LIGHT for use up back.

I would like a Ruger in .22 Mag though.

Coyotes are so fukken tough, it's like they are made out of kevlar.

22 Hornet is a nice round, I have a Ruger 77/22 chambered in it.

I like my Remington 700 heavy barrel that is chambered in 22-250. Flat shooting round that cruises along at 3700 fps with store bought loads, A lot of guys are getting around 4000 fps with hand loads.

I have a 22-250, Win model 70 with red dot and lighted reticles, used it for Deer hunting many times when my Belgian Browning 7mm mag became too heavy to carry as I got older.

I'm not sure what I'll use around here, because of sub-divisions nearby. I might just use my .22, but yotes are hard to kill.

I could use my: .222 Remington

                             .257 Roberts

                             30:06

12 gauge with Carlson Super Turkey choke

Almost all cartridges are the same. The manufacturers come out with new calibers and everybody HAS TO HAVE ONE!!

The 6.5 Creedmore comes to mind. Everybody thinks it's the cat's ass. The 22/250 is just as good, and it's been around for many, many years. 264 Win MAg is a fukken cannon, but not popular anymore.

270 Win is a flat shooting bastid also. 243 is a flat-shooter, been around forever.

One of thwe reasons I bought the 28 gayge shotgun was for yotes. 28 with a slug with do them good but not travel too far.

I like 264 win mag , shoots 3300+ FPS , 100 grains it’s perfect for any NA animals except maybe Alaskan bears. Nice recoil as well.

Yeah , 22-250 is basically 22 mag on steroids :bc: another great round tho.

I was looking to buy a new deer rifle last year and I'm interested in something besides the old standbys....what do you think about calibers like .280, .257 Roberts, etc...

Yep...that is another one.

Some of these guys around brag up their 300 win mags and 300 wby mags and that's fine but total overkill for Whitetail around here IMO.

Nope. A 22-250 is a 250 savage necked down to a 22 caliber. It's a little more powerful than the .223 round that most AR-15's shoot. A 22 magnum is a small rimfire round.
