AKIQPilot Posted May 3, 2018 Share Posted May 3, 2018 (edited) I will be taking a vehicle down to the states this summer from AK. $5.25/gal through Canada is the break even point when comparing driving down to shipping the vehicle to Seattle and picking it up there. When you throw in the unknowns like a chipped windshield, flat tire or breakdown, etc. the decision is pretty easy. Ive driven back and forth to/from AK a dozen times over the years. It is nearly impossible to justify driving south now. Driving north is still cost effective because it cost twice as much to ship a vehicle north than south.
