Let’s say you made minimum wage in Seattle in 2016....  13$ an hour or 520$ a week...  you get 80$ a week increase...  15$ an hour.... your rent goes from 2000$ a month to $2340. 2 bed apartment in a city with the highest vacancy rate in years....  your entire raise goes to rent which is paid to the rich that endorsed the minimum wage increase by the government.

You should have just titled your OP "I'm a fucking idiot"... Instead of dragging it out for a couple pages...

Using the numbers you previously cited, a rent increase of 13.5% of $2000 rent would be $2270, not $2340.

At $520/wk, you couldn't afford $2k/month before the increase, and you can't after. No one making mw is renting a $2k/mo apartment.

I assume that you don't do the bills in your household?

Highest vacancy in 50 years, just a coincidence eh NaziPigDog :finger2:

Jesus fucking Christ Momo....

The market vacancy rate, reports thePuget Sound Business Journal, is 4 percent, up from 3.3 percent from the spring—not the biggest jump, but that number leaves out brand-new properties.

Include projects that are still gathering their first tenants and that number jumps to 6.8 percent, a much larger increase from 5.1 percent in the spring. That would imply that new projects coming online are greatly impacting the vacancy rate for the first time in a while.

The numbers come from a local apartment survey by local analysis firm Dupre and Scott. Their report says to expect Seattle’s rent increases to slow down as a result—with increased supply, landlords may be more desperate to fill units.

So they're building new units to combat all of the vacancies? Stupid liberals

2000 number just thru out there

2061$ is the actual number .  2340 is average from a few articles in 2017 ....  minimum wage in Seattle is 15$ was 13$ in 2016

so rent went up almost 300 a month while wage went up a touch over 300 a month... all the while have a 7 year high on vacancies....
