National poll: Clinton up 15 over Trump

A new poll puts Hillary Clinton 15 percentage points ahead of Donald Trump among registered voters, according to the latest McClatchy-Marist survey, released on Thursday.

The poll, which shows Clinton leading her Republican rival 48 percent to 33 percent, indicates a dramatic surge for the Democratic nominee since last month's edition of the survey, when she led Trump by just 42 percent to 39 percent.

Clinton made strides with two crucial demographic groups that had previously favored Trump: whites and men. She leads the Manhattan billionaire by 8 percentage points among men and is up by 3 points among white voters, 41 percent to 39 percent.

“This is coming off the Democratic convention, where a bounce is expected,” said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion. “What you don’t want is to have the worst week of your campaign."

Marist surveyed 1,132 adults from Aug. 1 to Aug. 3 via landlines and cell phones with live interviewers, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points. For the sample of 983 registered voters, the margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Doesn't matter.  I just took a poll here and your value on this site came in just behind a pop-up ad for hemorrhoid cream.

Isn't it Liberal indoctrination training time at your household right now?  Get busy!  I think someone in your family was thinking for themselves earlier.

We are gonna win sooooooo big.....says Rump at the RNC  sometimes it gets old beimg one of the smartest guys by a long shot on the forum.  Who's mentioned demographics before?  :snack:  Who's mentioned Dump has no chance? :snack:  Who's mentioned Hillary will win the swing states?  :snack:

If many of you can't comprehend how the electorate is shifting, how conservative many of you on this forum are, and how absolutley u qualified Rump is - I'll continue to enjoy owning your asses by simply posting the facts and current events.  The defense of a Rumps Khan comments on here is quite telling and pathetic.  Most of America disagrees with the forum knuckledraggers.

Take a look fella's :snack:

There has clearly been a significant movement toward Clinton in the last week," said Ken Goldstein, a professor of politics at the University of San Francisco and polling analyst for Bloomberg Politics. "Some of it is a Clinton post-convention bounce, but more of it seems to be a Trump deflation or implosion."

A new poll in Pennsylvania, seen by Trump's top strategists as a crucial bellwether, finds him trailing Clinton by 11 points (49 percent to 38 percent) among likely voters surveyed by Franklin & Marshall Colleghttp://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-08-05/-trump-is-cratering-new-polls-signal-deep-trouble-for-republican-nominee?cmpid=yhoo.headline&yptr=yahooe.

"Real talk: Trump is cratering."

Republican pollster Frank Luntz

An electoral vote-rich state that 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney lost by just 5 points, the Keystone State is arguably a must-win battleground for Trump due to demographics that are uniquely suited to his appeal. It is 20 percent whiter than the U.S. as a whole, and has a large working class base that is reeling from the loss of manufacturing jobs and sympathetic to Trump's anti-trade views.

The survey found that Trump's advantages among white men and voters without a college degree are erased by his larger deficits among white women and college graduates. And he's down by 69 points among nonwhite voters, the poll found.

"Given the fact that his assault on Hispanics has made it far more difficult to win many of the other swing states—like Colorado, Nevada and Florida—then Pennsylvania becomes ever more critical for Trump to put the pieces together to get to 270 electoral votes," said Whit Ayres, a leading Republican pollster.

Demographics :snack:  Utah, Georgia, Arizona..... In play

Even Trump acknowledged Thursday that his campaign was "having a tremendous problem in Utah," a reliably Republican state where Mitt Romney won more than 70% of the vote in 2012 and the hunger for another choice ushered independent candidate Evan McMullin, who has strong ties to Utah and the LDS community, into the presidential race this week.

There are far too many variables at play over the next three months for anyone to say with certainty how the race will end. The two major candidates are intensely disliked by the electorate. This week, Clinton has once again been shadowed by the controversy over her emails and her ties to the Clinton Foundation as secretary of state. Trump is a contender who has shown an extraordinary level of resilience in overcoming controversy.

But Mitch Stewart, who was the Obama campaign's battleground states director in 2012, said Clinton's strengthened position could dramatically reconfigure the electoral map for Democrats -- helping to lay groundwork for a Democratic transformation of states like Arizona and Georgia that were not expected to be competitive until 2020 or 2024.

Traveling NYS for work on a daily basis, 1275mi from monday to thursday this week. I can say this as a fact I saw with my own eyes. I did not see one Clinton sign in anyone's front yard, business, restaurants, not a single one to be found, but I saw 100's of Trump signs in yards, plastered on the sides of barns, outside of multiple businesses, and restaurants.:dunno:
