  1. Look out the left the captain said, the lights down there that's where we'll land. Sorry, carry on.
  2. On sale here in Ontario too. Save $4 on a 30 pack. Now only $53.95 No Kid Rock types here to fake outrage I guess.
  3. Opening this man’s pool today. My father built the pool in the late 70’s. But here in the little detached garage is a 56 Vette. He says it hasn’t run in 3 years but I think it’s been sitting longer. He’s 84 and will die with it. He restored it in the early 80’s. Hood is open to run the battery charger. He says he’s working on it. oh, and the Challenger on the street is his. He says it came out the back door of Dodge’s offices in Texas and 40 extra hp over a stock one. He hopes to turn high 13’s in the 1/4 this summer. Cool old dude.
  4. This dude took his Corvette apart in 1986 or '87. Never got it put back together.
  5. When I got the shaft out I put it in my truck to take to my buddy's place. I had sent him a text and he had a ujoint on the self. Today is a holiday here in Canada. When I got to his place and we looked it over, Who ever had done the work had replaced both front and rear ujoints and the hanger bearing but left this u-joint in place. This is the middle one behind the hanger bearing. It had to be removed to change the hanger bearing so how did they not notice? Why not just change it for good measure since they were already replacing the other 2 and had the shaft out? We've only put 200 miles on the truck since getting it back. No way that joint got that bad that fast. I'm going to have a talk with them tomorrow. Truck runs smooth as glass now.
  6. Hmmm, thought this was an ArcticCrusher thread.
  7. I never cared much for Ray Price until I seen him perform live several years ago. He was outstanding. So glad I seen him before he passed.
  8. This outstanding performer is 75 today.
  9. well I didn't see much of it. Was the racing any good? Seemed kinda boring with Larson being so dominate.
  10. Lovin' the retro paint on the 43. Can't get enough of those Petty colours.
  11. One of my work trucks had a vibration at the beginning of April. I took it in to my mechanic who had it for 4 weeks. I told him it felt like the driveshaft was shaking. He balanced the tires twice, replaced a worn hanger bearing, went through the rear end, checked for loose bolts, etc, said he couldn’t find anything wrong. He thought maybe the driveshaft had gotten tweaked. Driveshaft went to a specialty shop for a rebalance. He called and said he thought it was better but the vibration was still there. Told me to come take it and drive it for a bit to see what I think. My son drove it last week for the first time since we brought it home and said the truck shakes like a bastard. So today I finally had time to drive it to Home Depot. The thing shakes like a MF’r at 40 mph. I got home and crawled under it. Took 2 minutes to find the problem. IMG_5823.MOV
  12. Emotionals often create attachment to vehicles but then sometimes people are just hoarders. I posted this pic before. It’s a ‘68 Mercury 3/4 ton 4x4 pick up. It’s been sitting in this spot for close to 25 years now. I know the owner and I’ve tried to buy it. I’m sure others have tried as well but he won’t let it go. It was an abandoned project he picked up. Frame off, full nut and bolt. He finished it and drove it 2 miles to this rental property he owns. Inside that garage are 3 more cars. 2 are convertibles. He owns a farm outside of town and he has cars and trucks parked around there too but nothing special. I’m told his good stuff is inside his barn. He was into racing in the 60’s and he supposedly has several 427 side oilers. Just realized that the tailgate is still on it. It’s worth an easy $500. Amazed no one has stolen it.
  13. And this is why I like his show. Some of the cars he's been working on for years, some come from friends, some are random buys from Marketplace or Facebook group listings, some have come from tips, etc Sometimes it's an individual car, some times it's a big collection or any number in between. It's a full time job for him and he will travel anywhere to buy. I'd like to see how the $ numbers work in the background.
  14. Extreme Sisters. I don't understand how he puts up with the way they talk.
  15. Definitely, and restomods are bringing good money, sometimes better than an original restoration because the problem with old cars is they drive like old cars. I follow the truck market more than cars and restomod trucks are bringing big dollars these days. Not a fan of Barn Find Hunter. I'm a Coffee Walk guy....lol I like to see the stuff get sold and move on. One of my favorite episodes.
  16. Edwards was an asshole those last couple years. His ego was growing at an alarming pace. But he definitely had a few more good years of racing in him. It will always be a question as to what the real reason was that he left.
  17. Thanks, swapped him for Stenhouse. Let’s see if Ricky can keep it off the wall for an entire race….lol
  18. Bikes are fun but its high risk. I've given them up after years of riding. Just lost interest. My son quit after 2 spills. Once on the road. He hit the back of a car when he was distracted, car panic stopped. He flew over the trunk and landed on the curb. Bike was a mess but he got away with bruises. Then he crashed at a race track and broke his collar bone. He'll never ride again. I had a mechanic who worked on my trucks. Sold his business at 55 and took a job at the local city works yard fixing buses so he could take it easy, have some time to ride his Harley. A year later he went for a Sunday tour. A car pulled out in front of him on a 2 lane highway, he T-boned it and died on the scene. He was a real nice guy. Shit happens so fast on a bike.
