  3. But today, the nation’s ethanol plants produce more than double the climate-damaging pollution, per gallon of fuel production capacity, than the nation’s oil refineries, according to a Reuters analysis of federal data. The average ethanol plant chuffed out 1,187 metric tons of carbon emissions per million gallons of fuel capacity in 2020, the latest year data is available. The average oil refinery, by contrast, produced 533 metric tons of carbon. A growing consensus of academics has found that, considering all phases of the fuel’s life cycle, ethanol produces more carbon than gasoline – not less. A study published by the National Academy of Sciences in February, for example, estimated that ethanol produces 24% more carbon. The U.S. government has maintained that ethanol produces less pollution than gasoline despite the growing body of independent research showing the opposite. The EPA bases its claim that ethanol benefits the climate on calculations made nearly 15 years ago using a handful of scientific models. The models include one that was recommended to the agency by the Renewable Fuels Association, agency documents show. https://driving.ca/auto-news/industry/ethanol-plants-pollute-more-than-oil-refineries?_ga=2.46114913.410070498.1663001275-957761252.1663001273&_gl=1*lzbwr9*_ga*OTU3NzYxMjUyLjE2NjMwMDEyNzM.*_ga_H792QCFZPV*MTY2MzAwMTI3NS4xLjEuMTY2MzAwMTUyOC4xOC4wLjA.
  4. Yep, but these people, as a small example, had choices. 12 state police members fired for not getting COVID vaccine https://www.wbur.org/news/2022/04/11...-covid-vaccine Joe Biden says police should be fired for not getting the vaccine The president also mocked those who refuse the vaccine mandate and accused them of turning it into a political issue https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-b1943285.html Toronto cops who refuse to get vaccinated placed on “indefinite” unpaid leave https://nowtoronto.com/news/toronto-...e-unpaid-leave Toronto police put 205 employees on unpaid leave as part of COVID-19 vaccination policy https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toron...lice-1.6268435
  5. Stevie is scared and knows he was duped but he just doesn't want to admit it.
  6. Prime Minister Pierre Poilievre is something to look forward to He won the Conservative leadership with such a vast majority because he is sensible. Well, Pierre Poilievre won the Conservative leadership. What now? I don’t know. It might be nice, for a change, for someone who has a vague idea of ordinary life to run the country for a while. Who doesn’t dance or prance, but came from a hard beginning, applied himself to the art and practices of democratic representation, didn’t opt for a dilettante career and then simply waltz into high office on name and fame? Worth a try, anyway. He is supposed to be so angry. According to some unfathomably ridiculous columnists, a threat to the nature of the country, the “most dangerous, appalling politician” we have ever seen. He sidles up to “extremists,” and courts the hellishly dangerous “far right.” He liked … the truckers! Dear me, who have the Conservatives turned their leadership over to? Fear stalks the land. They are, even as I torment the laptop keyboard, putting up pylons around the Toronto Star building, and the CBC headquarters on Front St. is draped from the 10th storey down in black crepe. Grief counsellors by the dozens have been called in, and the editorial offices are gloomily consulting on whether it’s safe to have another panel on one of their infinite yammerings about imminent climate doom should Poilievre (eek) become prime minister and de-subsidize the windmill factories. Pierre Poilievre a threat to democracy? A dark presence about to descend on a tranquil, gloriously (mis)governed Canada? King of yobs and louts? Ooh, how dangerous! Actually his promise is far more positive. He could bring an end to our interminably woke-nattering government of virtue-signallers and identity-mongers. No more tweets from Catherine McKenna, or Steven — I will climb every tower — Guilbeault. Oh, how will we deal with such losses? We could exchange empty homilies and endless moaning about the “future of the planet” for a government led by someone who thinks that governing Canada is his real and first task. That ridiculous carbon taxes during a time of high inflation is a misery without benefit, that unlocking Alberta and the West’s resources might stabilize an economy under peril from massive debt and careless spending in the billions. Poilievre’s liberal critics are all red-faced with the idea he cozies up to dangerous extremists, that he is a Canadian avatar of Donald Trump-style politics. What is in their cereal? Do they think A Handmaid’s Tale is a blueprint? They confuse a childish paranoid fiction with a serious reality. These fantasies do not explain his massive win, nor the unprecedented crowds that gathered for him coast to coast during the campaign. A whole lot of Canadians, and not just Conservatives, have grown exceedingly irritated, beyond mere annoyance, at the perpetual, smug self-righteousness and cloying preachiness of the ultra-woke “we always know best” Liberal leadership. Poilievre at the very least does not carry that burden. Should he become prime minister, it will be good to get back to not always being lectured to and frowned down upon by a self-assuming superior caste. Be nice to have a government again that does not see the whole country as “systemically racist” when in fact Canada has proven to be both a haven and welcoming place for people from all over the world. Poilievre won the Conservative leadership with such a vast majority because he is sensible, has some clue about life for most Canadians, because he is not a woke preacher disguised as a Prime Minister, and because he defied the opinions of much of the media. He also won because he is not what his critics, in their fever-dreams, wished to paint him. He is not a “populist” in the derogatory sense, but a populist in the sense that he has at least a clue of what ordinary people think, feel and live. That should not be a discount for a politician. It should be the first premise in any evaluation of whether to vote for him. As for the current Liberal batch, with their incomprehensible incompetence, their deliberate choice to use a pandemic as a political lever, for calling an election in the middle of one, to describing those who challenged their undebated vaccine mandates as “racists” and “misogynists” and a “fringe minority,” it has all become so tiresome, even boring. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rex-murphy-prime-minister-pierre-poilievre-is-something-to-look-forward-to
  7. The lad is either willfully ignorant or is just trolling again if he thinks the Republicans are anything like the Dems. The list of the fake news stories are endless that the Liberal sheep lap up. inflation is transitory" Russia caused gas prices to spike--not Biden ending much of the gas production monkeypox is normal now for non-homosexuals to get, just like covid came from a bat eaten in a wet market hunter's laptop isn't real and he isn't a freak/weirdo/pedo please send more money to Ukraine to support the war cause--they promise not to use more of it to fund photoshoots and cross-dressing by Ukraine's president LOL Jan 6th was a riot but chop city, Portland, and Seattle were all peaceful protests we desperately need to teach all of our 5 year old's about cross-dressing and transvestites so they can pick if they want to be called he, she, her, it, monkey, dog, or cat that week... LOL SICK!
  8. It's amazing what a crooked, corrupt and evil govt, with the help of their funded media can do to the ignorant young minds of our youth, and the dumb adults in this world.
  9. I was at work (Nuke plant) when my foreman received a call from his wife. We had no access to a T.V. nor a radio so everything came through her. We sat looking south across Lake Ontario and all said to each other, that really isn't all that far away. Needless to say it was a very somber day and hard to concentrate on our work. My son had just been born in June so I managed to call my wife as she was home with him and she told me she couldn't believe what she was seeing on T.V. Lots of misinformation, of course, at that time, and every bit my wife heard freaked her out a little bit more. Like her, we were also concerned working at a Nuke plant even though we were in Canada. We just assumed, in order to create the most damage/disruption, Nuke plants might also be a target?
  10. This Billion Dollar Solar Plant was an EPIC Failure.

  12. The only thing they need, as this change will do nothing, is to make Mark Rutte leave/resign, but I don't think that is going to happen unless they lynch him.

  16. Complete and utter morons Biden and the Dems are. Another failure that Biden had to walk back.
  17. Less than 10% of the oceans have been explored, mapped and documented. Lots down there that we don't know about. Just think how many volcanoes and other natural, methane, oil and other nasty seeps that are spewing into the air 24/7 that scientists don't know about. Researchers say they have found more than 500 bubbling methane vents on the seafloor off the US east coast. The unexpected discovery indicates there are large volumes of the gas contained in a type of sludgy ice called methane hydrate.Aug 24, 2014 https://marine.unh.edu/spotlight/acoustic-mapping-methane-gas-seeps https://response.restoration.noaa.gov/oil-and-chemical-spills/oil-spills/resources/what-are-natural-oil-seeps.html
  18. We are regressing as a society, not advancing. And it's not hard to see who is pushing the majority of that regression onto the people.
  19. I know its gotta be tough for you, Steve, knowing you took a experimental vaccine with no long term side effect studies because your T.V. screen told you to, but I think it's time you admitted that and moved on with your life, don't you?
  20. Remember when the tolerant left wished death to all those who attended a Trump rally.
