  1. If you’ve ever had general anesthesia for a medical procedure, you’ve had it.
  2. Why would you say that? Seems like a very one-sided view of the situation. If you tried to balance your news sources, you’d realize how they polarize our country as part of their business model.
  3. I don’t care whose mileage is used or who rides slower, because it seems like all trail riders, and some off-trail riders, would benefit from carrying an extra 2 gallons of gas. The further I can stretch a tank of gas, the fewer problems I have to worry about when I’m riding. Here’s another thing to discuss: With the Catalyst’s focus on mass centralization, and considering how many people purchase Kimpex or BRP fuel tanks for their tunnel, replacing the OEM tank makes even more sense. The Catalyst isn’t just about weight, it’s about balance.
  4. I suspect it’s something people may not notice just by holding them in their hand, correct? On the Mission, I couldn’t tell the difference and the CKX factory sales rep at Hay Days didn’t bother to defend carbon fiber when I told him that. Made it seem like he didn’t think there was much difference, other than price. But, in the back of my head, I keep wondering if the difference would be noticeable after a few hours riding.
  5. I’ve held both in my hands and couldn’t tell the difference in weight. I believe the difference is something like 3 ounces. Agreed. I don’t get it (with the big gap in Klim’s product lineup).
  6. It’s too quiet, and I thought I’d stir up something to talk about. I saw some cool stuff for Catalysts last week, and it’s good to see that the aftermarket thinks they can make money on the platform.
  7. I thought it seemed like a good idea, not sure how much they’ll cost. Seems like a lot of people spend a lot of time and effort trying to fit an additional 2 gallons to the tunnel. A larger tank that does the same thing and also frees up space on the tunnel might get their attention, I don’t know. I’m glad someone thought of it, and it makes me wonder if there will be more than one.
  8. Anybody else making aftermarket tanks for the Catalyst yet? I'd like to see a 12.5 gallon tank that uses stock hardware, no special fitting, ATACH accessories still mount fine. It's good to see the aftermarket ramping up for the Catalyst - tunes, clutching, turbos, big bore kits, accessories, etc.
  9. I looked forward to his forecasts every week during snowmobile season. This is a real bummer.
  10. The scoop is, it was a group policy that they dropped - no more group policy, individual policies are okay. Sounds like this stems from a fatality and an ambulance chaser that's suing everyone. I'm amazed that a single incident could cause such upheaval - insurance companies are hugely profitable (generally), not because they're sitting on a gold mine, but because they know how to calculate risk. Very disappointing, but it is what it is. Maybe this will be better for everyone in the long run, but right now it's going to cost every club a lot more money.
  11. Sounds like Taiga performance is pretty good - on par with the "real" electric cars, in terms of acceleration and top speed. The Ski Doo sounds anemic. It's embarrassing how much money BRP got to develop that. Did Taiga get money, too?
  12. Our next meeting is Wednesday, so I'll check. I haven't heard anything yet.
  13. @Bontz - What did you decide, or are you still thinking about it? At Hay Days, we stopped to talk with the people at CKX about the Mission, but I completely forgot to look at the Titan. I like how light weight the Mission is, and the field of view. I'm sure the Titan is going to be similar, just curious what you ended up with.
  14. This looks interesting, kinda wish we'd see more of this from the "domestics". Good job, Lynx!
  15. My Baffin Snow Monsters are probably my favorites. I do like my FXR Heliums because of the BOA system, too. I would say that they're both plenty warm - have used them both for snowmobiling and ice fishing, with no issues. The Baffins might be a little warmer.
  16. I didn't know Polaris was making SxS's in Mexico. I wonder why they would do that, I thought everything was made in USA. That being said, I don't think these kinds of recalls are because of where it was manufactured, because from my point of view there's a huge shortage of skilled + quality workforce everywhere. It seems like fewer people are willing to accomplish - or capable of accomplishing - virtually anything. Polaris needs to increase their efforts to not only hire the right people, but also foster an environment that ensures employees care. Some recalls seem to be related to design, but some are clearly quality issues. The right engineers think further ahead than their current task to prevent design issues from creeping into production. The right shop floor employees are empowered to bring up issues when they're found, and prevent defects from leaving the factory.
  17. Congrats! I'm envious! I got to ride the very first 2024 Riot 9000 with EPS that they made, and what a smooth running machine. The EPS lets you forget about steering, it's unbelievable how well that works. And, that Yamaha turbo is buttery smooth all the way through the power band. I loved that sled!
  18. Doesn't matter - the DNC has the media, Google and Facebook under their control and can do whatever they want anyway. Doesn't matter that Trump leads every single poll, he can't possibly win the General.
  19. This fall, I bought a 1992 Indy for a friend to use for ice fishing. It was a blast digging into it, so much easier, so much room. Did need a few things fixed, but it was clean, straight and everything was greased by the seller. I might have to get a wedge Indy one of these days, just to have something fun to tinker with.
  20. The company is West Bend. Apparently, we participated in some kind of group rate with a bunch of clubs, and among all of those clubs there were two deaths last winter. This is what caused West Bend to drop all trail policies for the group. I’m not sure how many clubs are affected.
  21. I'm sorry I didn't jot down who it was - will try to find out which agent/underwriter. I know there were several clubs in both Wisconsin and Minnesota that were affected, but not much more than that. If I can find out more details, I'll post it here.
  22. There's at least one insurance company that dropped a whole bunch of trail policies. I don't know who the underwriter was, but my club was affected by that - we're scrambling to find coverage before the trails open on Dec. 1st.
  23. The attack on Israel was intended to provoke a disproportionate response to pull other Arab countries into a conflict that would ultimately destroy those who have someone else's shit. It looks like any other war, at this point. I don't really gaf who's land it is any more. No country on earth occupies land that some other entity willingly gave them.
  24. Really? Let's see what Mr. Lefty Global Warming says about that.... Or, Mr. Tree Hugger Climate Activist.... It's pretty interesting stuff. Fusion - the only thing we have right now that looks like the best solution on paper - is still pie in the sky. But, fission is here right now. I think that's exciting. I think everyone is making a valid point about questioning what the government - and, thus, tax payers - is paying for. Unfortunately, the accusation that the other side has resorted to communism to fund what they think is right is just a smoke screen for actual dialog. We should question what they're spending money on - we should question what they're doing and do that more often. We don't need to call people names if we disagree with them.
  25. Garland is a walking "leftist plot". I'm not sure we'll ever see a US Justice Dept. that's truly impartial or pursues "justice". It's all political now, and the Republicans will only retaliate at the first opportunity, making the cycle endless.
