well i'm upstate in the mountains . we live good here and it's beautiful . taxes and laws can be brutal.

i believe ny state now has a law that you have to have both prices on the price tag. kind of like gas stations with a cash or credit price. they have both on there. The Credit Card Surcharge Law impacts sellers in three key ways: Requires that sellers clearly and conspicuously post the total price for using a credit card in a transaction, including the surcharge. Prohibits sellers from charging a final price (including the credit card surcharge) that is greater than the posted price. Prohibits sellers from imposing a surcharge on a consumer using a credit card that is greater than the amount charged by the credit card company to the seller for such card use. Failure to comply with these new requirements could result in a significant civil penalty. The law provides that each violation (meaning each transaction that occurs that is non-compliant with any aspect of this law) will result in a civil penalty of up to $500.

as far as tips , it is out of control. my old lady fumes at the idea , especially when they have a cup with "tip's" on it.

the small cycle shop i help out paid almost 9k in fees his last year without the 3%. he warns when they drop off, has signs all over, sticker on the door and counter. when he did it he told me he felt like an asshole for being that way. but in the end he just couldn't afford to pay that. he is good to those people anyway and most will not bitch

we had a guy call say he needed a new truck, doesn't care what one but has to be 600.00 a month. couldn't do it. 750.00 was the bottom. a local traded in a sweet 13 sierra 1500. garaged most of it's life. i told him over and over to keep it. finally he just trades it for a 17 silverado 1500. his payments are like 650 now. and the 17 is junk. he chose the wrong one because he liked the looks. i called my buddy , dude you need to buy this 13 , so he did. he was shocked at it's condition. he paid cash and has no payments at all.

many jobs like mine in the new car business used to be awesome. i started in 1985. now between the junk, the people, the manufacturer, etc. it is much less enjoyable. i moved to manufacturing for a bit to try something else, i found that worse. returned to cars. i started in the business because of my love for cars. now it's just survival and nothing more. now my boss may be ill and that will dump even more on my plate.

many in life have no interests. retirement doesn't make them appear. my girlfriend is part retired. they asked her back 2 days a week. no one applied. she has many interests and is always busy. she remains active and eats a good diet. too many retire, celebrate with steak dinners and hit the chair. gone in no time. that is the worst part of life to stop moving
