Thanks to Trudope we are now the most indebted country in the world. Then of course we have Trudope to contend with. How does that stack up compared to where you are in the US? So in two years we suddenly cranked up the debt? That didn’t happen under Harper? Consumers haven’t been cranking on the debt because of such low interest rates? There was a spike in 2008 when globally markets went into melt down. After that debt and spending was trending down. Now bring in Trudope.... no recession to counteract but he sure likes to throw around the money without any tangible benefit or impact. When we were navigating Canada through the global recession Canada fared far better than others.

The exchange rate is a fairly easy comparison for most people. X 1.275 metro Toronto is 6 million and growing. It’s the 4th largest city in North America. Which is why it did the New York and LA comparison

They now comprise part of the total population of Toronto. I believe you are thinking the Greater Toronto area which includes Oakville Mississauga, Markham and so much more. Houston and Toronto are indeed comparable in size.

Canadians are idiots... I’ve challenged people to do an accurate comparison. You need the include total tax burden and insurance premiums over a lifetime. End of life costs etc. Paying low taxes when you are 40 doesn’t mean much if a heat attack takes everything you own. When you compare housing costs to be fair you would want to compare people who live in gated communities in the US with normal housing in Canada.
