But the real question remains: IS the dank, danker?

Genetic engineering is the progression of the breeding technology.  Cross-breeding and hybridization are well, not progressive.

genetically engineered organisms can and often times do incorporate select genes from an entirely different species into the genetic code of another species. far different than cross breeding

They have been crossing strains of plants for a long ass time. How is that considered genetically modified, I mean are dogs considered GMO? And ftr Im not claiming its not GMO, Im just looking for an explanation.

Use it as you wish, but it is still a GMO, but is often times doesn't fit the narrative of those who are anti-Monsanto (yet, oddly enough, not anti other agri-science companies).

One that is often ignored is mutagenesis.  That is where the seed or plant is bombarded with radiation or chemicals to change it.  Most of what you eat today, organic or not, has been bred this way.

At the end of the day, the only crops that go through extensive safety testing and government approvals are transgenic and RNAi crops.

If you even look at the GMO labelling laws, cheese is often not something that needs to be labelled.  90% of the cheese is North America today is made with a GMO rennet.

Potheads would still be pissed if Monsanto helped legalize pot and made it cheaper.

“Currently, Federal law criminalizes marijuana and hemp derivatives because public opinion is still against it and legal commercial production in the U.S. is currently handled by a patchwork of small farmers whom are not trusted by investors. A major player as Monsanto could bring confidence within government and towards investors in the market if it were to own a large part of the exploitable lands and commercial products”

“There is presently no way to control the production of marijuana and the quality of the strains. A GM strain produced by a company with the credentials and prestige of Monsanto would definitely lend a massive hand to pro-legalization activists within certain spheres of government and within the business world” he explains.
