I remember standing outside the cabin at night and hearing all the greasy triples off in the distance and this was also before the decibel laws, it was tremendous.

XCR1250
All my 600 & 650 Polaris triples had Open stinger pipes, guys covered their ears when I ran down the track return lanes.
Matt
Triple pipes sound great, but a well-tuned 3-into-1 exhaust setup was divine too. The Wedge XLTs and XCR piston port triples are still the best sounding sleds in history. Followed closely by those Turbo Apexes the guys in BC were running back in the day.

Sled_Hed
This one reminded me of one time leaving a lunch stop, where there was a straight shot across a small lake. Everyone lined up leaving and this random guy on a yami 4 stroke joined us, my brother beat him back and forth on his F7. The guy stopped and asked what his sled was and said it ran good https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ch6IYaTpkNE/?igsh=bzFoeXlhZmZ5Mmk4
gravy davey
The triples definitely had more top end than twins do. And the glorious sound.

Man those piston port motors were junk but sounded so good and yeah a 3-1 does just sound so damn smooth

When they tried to squeeze more out of them by punching to 597cc and running 38mm Miks, they stunk. I had a '94 579cc XLT and would trade wins all day with my bud on his ZR 580. Fun days.
