Sen. John Fetterman Leaves Hospital, Will Return to Senate April 17

Sen. John Fetterman was discharged on Friday from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he checked himself in for depression, his office said.

The 53-years-old Democrat from Pennsylvania entered the hospital in mid-February after struggling with what an aide said was clinical depression that left him unable to take care of himself in basic ways, like eating or drinking

Good for him.  Demonizing mental health is a major problem.  It took more character to seek help than not.  I mean - orange man’ should seek mental help also but we all know he lacks character.

Since you brought up character lets talk about his families lack of it…they should have talked him into leaving the Senate race after he suffered a stroke. Also did the voters know about his mental health issues during the race…Fetterman has provided them with zero representation since he was elected.

He’s been in for 3 months  Health issues and leave are not uncommon. Kudo’s to PA voters supporting one of their own instead of the NJ celebrity who would have earned your vote

First of all I can’t stand Dr. Oz and said it here numerous times so you can shove that one up your ass sideways and Fetterman should have done the right thing and stepped aside after his stroke. Also the voters had the right to know about his mental health issues during the campaign.

I heard that he has suffered clinical depression for years..this was said when he entered Walter Reed…here you go.

Jentleson announces the senator is seeking treatment for “severe depression” that plagued him throughout his life but “became severe in recent weeks.”

KEY BACKGROUND

Fetterman’s response to his health issues in the leadup to the general election was heavily scrutinized for its lack of transparency. The senator declined to release medical records up until October and even then only released a letter from his cardiologist. In the letter, Dr. Ramesh Chandra explained the senator suffers from a condition that prevents his heart from pumping blood properly. Chandra also said Fetterman previously neglected doctor's appointments for five years, but if that pattern changed and he took his recovery seriously, “he should be able to campaign and serve in the U.S. Senate without a problem.” While doctors said Fetterman was fit to serve, the stroke did not leave him unscathed. Fetterman now has a hearing impairment that requires him to use a close captioning device to partake in conversations, a common tool for people with hearing or auditory processing problems. He explained that to NBC News in an October interview, “I sometimes will hear things in a way that’s not perfectly clear.” It’s not clear whether Fetterman’s stroke has any connection to him seeking treatment for clinical depression, but depression is a common experience for stroke survivors, according to the American Stroke Association.

Kudo’s to him for seeking treatment.  Great opportunity to use his platform to promote mental health awareness, treatment, options, and opportunity.  Shame on those using his situation to demonize mental health.  And then you wonder why those who need help are hesitant.

We elect the worst people for the positions. If you can’t even take care of yourself how the fuck are you going to look out for your constituents

No one I ever saw demonized him for having a mental condition.  They demonized him for not stepping aside from running for office after having a stroke and clearly not being fit.  And, we demonized his wife for letting him run, the way we demonized DR. JILL Biden for allowing her own husband to run at the onset of Alzheimer’s.

we’re talking about important positions of political office here making decisions for tax paying citizens, not an administrative position for a snowmobile website.

That’s rich but doesn’t mean much when you lick the orange man’s balls and support the clown from New Jersey.  Might be best for you to sit this one out
