I'm very much in favor of public lands dude, don't get me wrong here. How prevalent are cases in the OP? My sense is it will become an issue as people demand kore access to their public lands and billionaires purchase large tracts. At the end of the day - access to public land needs to be required. Billionaire land owners can play nice or whine when the government requires access. Otherwise - public lands without access encapsulated by private land is just and extension of the private land. Is that fair? Nobody is demanding access to more private land in this example. However - like I said before I do believe there is a debate to had in regards to private land access when it’s in a public program and/or the land owner is being subsidized. I live in WI. I grew up in NE where 97% of the land is privately owned. in NE fewer and fewer land owners still live on their property as more of it is bought up by absentee land owners.
