Wasn't stating an opinion on those programs....just stating that almost 40% of the country is under the control of govt healthcare. I'm actually not completely opposed to either program however no different than SS its a unsustainable system with what is currently going in. The cost of technology is outpacing the contributions. 20 years ago almost nobody got a joint replaced. Now it seems everyone is have multiple ones and that's just one thing. I don’t disagree.....so is it your opinion that only rich people should receive medical care or does the system need changing?

"Only rich people." SMH. People who go on Medicare need to contribute way more during the years they are working. 1.45% (2.9% with employer contribution) is simply not enough. So this so called control by government for healthcare is ok as long as the people pay more. Do you even review what you write?

Or put everyone on the same program and set the costs. It’s better than insurance companies ripping everyone off for profit and the providers having to account for this

What do you say to nurses and doctors when they start not taking on Medicare patients because they are losing money on them? I get it. I get the desire for everyone to have 100% of the care they need at minimal expense to them but in order to accomplish that (set costs) there will be repercussions. One of those is for cost of other care to increase to balance things out. The other will be refusal to take on Medicare patients.
