The people that put him in have deep pockets. 

Wherever there has been political unrest and coups there is a few things in common. 

1. An influx of NGO's that spread propaganda against the current regime

2. The IMF comes in and burdens that country with incredible amount of debt and de-industrializes that country. 

3. The west installs a new leader who probably isn't even from there.

America pulls the strings. The hidden hand of Uncle Sam will destroy any non-players in order to keep America's status quo.

If he was a Russian Snowden and blew the whistle on Russian spying, the American government would give him an all expense paid vacation. He’s be on Fox News 24/7.
