40 years alone in the woods

Welcome to Gothic, Colorado—one of the coldest places in the United States. This ghost town has been abandoned since the 1920s, but there is at least one person who still calls it home. For more than 40 years, current resident billy barr has lived in a small cabin, recording data about the snowpack to pass the time. In this short film, Morgan Heim of Day’s Edge Productions profiles the legendary local who inadvertently provided scientists with a treasure trove of climate change data.

So now a 40 year spell which is a nanonanonanosecond in geological time is some sort of climate change epiphany

Exactly. Cycles in nature and weather aren't measured in days, weeks, years or even decades. Perhaps centuries as a mini cycle.

There have been many ice ages during the last 2.6 million years but when people talk about the Ice Age, they are often referring to the most recent glacial period, which peaked about 21,000 years ago and ended about 11,500 years ago.

So here we have one of natures' cycles which lasted about 9,500 years. Far cry from a 40 year fluctuation.

Europe is having one of the coldest winters on record :dunno:

Climate change.   Global warming doesn't always fit the agenda.

Hilarious when they pulled that name change out or their collective asses like real soon after the hockey stick graphs were proven to be bullfuckingshit

Awesome, another climate change debate! Here is what I think.

1. The climate has been changing for 10,000 years so yes it is in FACT changing.

2. What is man's role in it (if any) and what can we do about it? The greenhouse gas emission data I have seen shows that every man, woman and child in the world accounts for about 20% of the worlds total greenhouse gases emissions. #1 emitter is the Military industrial complex. #2 is agriculture and #3 is industry and commerce. So based on that data the most effective changes we could make as a society is stop all military conflicts and testing worldwide (fine by me) and kill all of the animals.

3. For me the greater concern is we should NOT continue to pollute the fuck out of the earth. It is already fucking disgusting. There are toxins and carcinogens in every water source, in our air and in our soil. This will kill us before climate change.

There is significant evidence backed up with real science that without man adding CO2 to the atmosphere we would be heading towards a dead planet. Ideal carbon levels for plant growth in the atmosphere are about 1400 ppm 1000 ppm higher than atmospheric levels that is why greenhouses often pump in CO2 to help growth :)
