How do you like the mini split for a/c? I’m stupid spoiled at work now with a/c and I’m thinking about putting a pair of them in my shop at home, when I built it.

I have been told the same. For heat and a/c.  If the unit cycles too much, it’s too big.

We have a stamped concrete main floor with full house infloor and the wife wanted ac. We put in a mini split ( ac only) as we didn't need additional heat with infloor and a fireplace. I was concerned with it cooling the bedrooms and den at the front of the house and I was surprised. The master bdrm was down to 64 deg and the den was 68 deg. Now I don't have to listen to her complain about it's too hot in here lol. The 5K was worth the peace and quiet lol

You keep saying real cold weather.

You ain't seen cold till you've spent a winter in Saskatchewan.

You're right. I should have qualified that. Extreme cold for southern Ontario I would consider to be anything below -20 C ( -4 F). We don't see much below that very often.

Gotcha. Thought you were using it in a garage/shop is why I asked. That’s what I would want to use it in. Sort of scared at how expensive my electric bill might be though if I used one for heat and air lol. Getting a gas line out to my existing barn might be tricky though too. Thanks for the info. :bc:

First year in my house I didn't have the mini split in the garage.  So I had a reference to how much juice I was using.  Keeping my garage at 70 degrees (and 50% humidity with the "dry" mode= awesome) I figure its about 20-30 dollars a month to run it.  Crazy cheap.  Fat guy happiness right there!!  Shes 1800 sq ft of man cave!!
