Today is the peak of summer, at least judging by the crest of the warmest average temperatures of the year. This is just over 4 weeks after the longest day of the year, during which the sunlight has decreased by more than a half hour. So why the delay? It is called seasonal lag - the extra time due to the slower response of the Earth to the Sun’s energy. As the days get shorter, average temperatures very slowly decrease the rest of the summer.

Could not agree more....Some days I feel like it's impossible to drink enough water.

I usually do my paperwork at night. When the heat gets like this, my brain goes to mush in the evenings and I get way behind. Shit gets forgotten.

Yet, the hotter it gets the more my phone rings......lol

We started out very humid this morning and reached a high of 79° this afternoon. Temp is now down to 74°, and humidity is lower thanks to the dew points falling to the upper 50's.
