The states had/have their own constitutions to protect our rights at the state level. The 14th Amendment made it legal for the US Constitution to override the states. This lead to a huge power grab by the fed. Now the fed. is deciding whether someone who owns a one horse bakery has to make a cake for homos or not. Was never meant to be like that.
