Only the rich would drive.  LOL

You don't have anything to prove how much this would change climate.

Are you saying you don’t believe decreasing consumption of fossil fuels will slow climate change?

If the price of gas doubled, would people drive less?

When the gas prices first went up to 4 bucks a gal people were freaking out and I remember it was like you could roll up the streets after like 6 or 7 pm because nobody was out.

But people made adjustments to be more efficient, got used to it and life goes on.

That’s what the tax does. Increases the cost of polluting so people make adjustments and pollute less.

Polluting should not be free.

Sure, only the rich should be allowed to pollute.

I would say there’s no doubt this disproportionately targets middle class and lower income folks.

The Koch brother became extremely wealthy polluting. They used that money to deny climate change. Exxon has known climate change for 40 years. They all spent that time convincing people like you that it isn’t real. Obviously it still works.

Same shit the tobacco companies did.

I bet there are still people on here that smoke, would smoke around their kids.

That’s why it was called an inconvenient truth.

Of course, but look at how they have convinced at least one person here.

Look at the droves of people leaving places like NY, Cali, and Illinois. There is a breaking point when you tax someone right out of there.

Oh yeah, but all it takes is for some of these types who think this way to get into politics....then they feel it's their "duty" to control others all in the name of saving the planet...or other "good intentions"

Science!!!

WCRP’s models take into account greenhouse gas emissions and other natural and humanmade influences, but do not consider agricultural land use. When researchers ran the numbers for the Corn Belt, the global models fell short of reality: They predicted both temperature and humidity to increase slightly, and rainfall to increase by up to 4%—none of which matches the observed changes.

Do you believe in man made climate change?

Do you agree with the article?

I believe that there is not one tax or monetary policy that will effect it.  Not to mention, they have no clue on what the climate will do.

The alt left is so anti science. The climate has always changed. Even if man ceased to exist tomorrow it would still continue warming. The minuscule amount that man “may” have contributed thus far is minuscule at best. That’s not what’s starting fires

the alt left wouid rather bury their head in the sand and convulse “TAX THE RICH” than admit their policies were ill advised and adapt accordingly

forest have always burned. It’s part of their cycle

Yeah they’ve done studies and the amount that they would actually have to charge for a carbon tax to make a difference is so astronomical that it would break everyone RFN. Something like $3000/tonne

theres a reason here they want to tax carbon. We can’t stop using petroleum based fuels. They don’t want us to change, they just want the money. And $50/tonne is just where is starts.
