Come on Ben you really believe we killed almost 3% of the population? Iraq war added another 100-150K and not all were at the hands of the US. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/gulf/appendix/death.html How many Iraqis died? Independent analysts generally agree the Iraqi death toll was well below initial post-war estimates. In the immediate aftermath of the war, these estimates ranged as high as 100,000 Iraqi troops killed and 300,000 wounded. According to "Gulf War Air Power Survey" by Thomas A. Keaney and Eliot A. Cohen, (a report commissioned by the U.S. Air Force; 1993-ISBN 0-16-041950-6), there were an estimated 10-12,000 Iraqi combat deaths in the air campaign and as many as 10,000 casualties in the ground war. This analysis is based on enemy prisoner of war reports. The Iraqi government says 2,300 civilians died during the air campaign. One infamous incident during the war highlighted the question of large-scale Iraqi combat deaths. This was the `bulldozer assault' in which two brigades from the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized)--The Big Red One--used plows mounted on tanks and combat earthmovers to bury Iraqi soldiers defending the fortified "Saddam Line." While approximately 2,000 of the troops surrendered, escaping burial, one newspaper story reported that the U.S. commanders estimated thousands of Iraqi soldiers had been buried alive during the two-day assault February 24-25, 1991. However, like all other troop estimates made during the war, the estimated 8,000 Iraqi defenders was probably greatly inflated. While one commander thought the numbers might have been in the thousands, another reported his brigade buried between 80 and 250 Iraqis. After the war, the Iraqi government found 44 bodies. These numbers are interesting but they don't take into account the people that died in the Iran/Iraq wars. You know the wars caused by the US supporting and supplying weapons to Saddam so he could take revenge on the Ayatollah. You know since the US propped him up. Not to mention the first Iraq war. You know the one that Warren Christopher told him was A ok with the US before they changed their mind and attacked. Kind of weird that they'd change their mind like that. It almost seems like they were setting him up. Freeeeedumb.

Inter Muslim faith fighting. The Iran–Iraq War was an armed conflict between Iran and Iraq, beginning on 22 September 1980, when Iraq invaded Iran, and ending on 20 August 1988, when Iran accepted the UN-brokered ceasefire. Iraq wanted to replace Iran as the dominant Persian Gulf state, and was worried that the 1979 Iranian Revolution would lead Iraq's Shi'ite majority to rebel against the Ba'athist government. The war also followed a long history of border disputes, and Iraq planned to annex the oil-rich Khuzestan Province and the east bank of the Shatt al-Arab (Arvand Rud Edited October 19, 2018 by Highmark

Besides the attack being a mistake in general the larger mistakes were made in the management of war and handing over power to the Iraqi's. Dude you are simply wrong on the death count totals for the 2 wars. There are only a couple that even remotely claim your numbers and they are widely discredited by even non-govt agencies. Use some common sense dude.

Yes we fucked up by handing over power to the Iraqis in their own country which we just destroyed for no reason...That statement just illustrates the idiocy of American Foreign Policy. While that is probably true to a certain extent it is 100% true that the death toll of Iraqi conflict since 2003 is not known and every US controlled propaganda arm is underreporting it by many multiples. The exact death toll might not be known but they have a very good idea. Care to post up links to them still digging up bodies the coalition or American forces buried? Care to post up a link to the deaths per bombs dropped? Anything I see on ordinance used is in ton's not specific numbers of bombs. The bold again is just hilarious. Care to post up those links? You honestly believe there were 4 times more Iraqi's killed than we lost during WW2? There were only a handful of major battles in either Iraq war. Look at the Island campaign....we were losing thousands and thousands of soldiers each battle. Edited October 19, 2018 by Highmark

Seriously dude just stop. But our calculations, using the best information available, show a catastrophic estimate of 2.4 million Iraqi deaths since the 2003 invasion Civil protection rescue teams work on the debris of a destroyed house to recover the body of people killed in an airstrike during fighting between Iraqi security forces and Islamic State militants on the western side of Mosul, Iraq.
