jtssrx
If you stop and think about it we are all slaves. Look at hoe money is created out of thin air and how we spend the bulk of our lives working to pay for shit we don't need. We we live under the illusion that we are free. That voting for so and so will get us the where we want to go. It's all bullshit. Last but not least look at war. We peasants enlist in the military to fight wars for what Freedom? Look at how vets are treated. Look at how homeless are treated. When I look at the lavish lifestyles of political class it says it very clearly we are thier slaves. We work for them they don't work for us.

Platinum Contributing Member Highmark Posted August 30, 2016 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) Who here feels like a slave to corporations? Honestly I sure the fuck don't. I buy what I want so it makes my life better. Not all good but plenty of it is. I feel much more a slave to the govt than corporations. Zambroski
Well, our "slavery" goes deeper too. HOWEVER, like mentioned....you can pick and choose a bit more on how much "slavery" you are willing to put in the game by planning ahead. It's tough...it takes sacrifice...but it can be done. It's complete social slavery on one end vs. complete freedom on the other. SOmwhere between the two most will find some kind of happiness. If you aren't where you want to be on that line now, make changes to move one way or another. Took me almost six long years after some serious retrospecting, and a lot of "wheel grinding" to find myself in a better spot. It was worth it. Govt wants to play God and decide who gets what. Edited August 30, 2016 by Highmark

You attend 12 years of public schools provided by the taxpayers (the government) and yes businesses too. Many attend college subsidized by the taxpayers or wholly paid for by john q citizen. NOW yes it benefits the person but it also benefits corporations the most. Government also provides fire/police and military protection for those companies to keep safe so they can build what they want whenever they want, many supplemented with government subsidies, grants etc. paid for by the tax payer and provided to corporations. Huge tax breaks are also provided by taxpayers and the government to corporations like reduced local an state tax rates. We as a human race pay for ourselves and exist for Corporate America to use as they please.

Boered
You have to accept that we have a wealthy elite pulling strings. You can fight it, but that takes time, money and energy most simply do not have. So ignore it, and play the system to your best advantage. Why are only large corporations to blame? As for these HUGE tax breaks why not go ahead and name some. I'd be curious to hear them. What I like best in your little world is how for education, military, police/fire (what you think of as good) the taxpayers and the govt are one in the same yet when it comes to govt subsidies, grants ext somehow its only the taxpayer and not the govt. Why are they different for those govt things? You act as if all corporations are these living breathing stand alone entities. Corporations are no different than the govt. They are groups of people. They do good, they do bad. Neither corps or the govt is exempt. I think its hilarious that you love the govt which in all essence is the worlds largest corporation. These politicians ideals often already match up with those people. I think we take this Manchurian candidate thing a bit far at times. I mean if I'm pro gun and take money from Winchester is that somehow influencing me? Edited August 30, 2016 by Highmark

If taxpayers were taxed accordingly to fund an honest govt. at all levels, we would be paying less taxes than we do, a lot less. If you need a hint, just start with public unions, they've been fucking taxpayers for a long time and that's a fact. 1 hour ago, Mainecat said: Do you know what TARP is?
